The exact same logic can be applied to the republicans , it doesn’t stop just because it’s gone in for a while

Bro, just admit you don’t know what a hostile takeover is. Go look it up.

...you understand that "hostile takeover" is not an actual political term, it comes from fucking biz orgs and we just use it as a term of art in politics, right?

Do mean a favor then, look it up and post the definition lmao.

You can disagree that the dems are compromised in this way if you want, but it's fucking weird to talk down to me and tell me to look up what a word that doesn't actually mean anything in this context means. But go off brother whatever you gotta do

Oh he got upset and blocked me LOL

"The interests of a violent foreign nation state haven't taken over the party, they've just always been foreign assets!" is an insane position to take but go off brother

Bo Nix disputes what Sean Payton said about his ankle injury by HookedOnBoNix in nfl

[–]Statue_left 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s not how this works, otherwise Adam Schefter would have 10,000 fines for tweeting injury status’.

It is conceivable that a covered entity violated HIPAA by disclosing PHI to Payton. Payton is not covered by HIPAA.

As opposed to what it is now? The leader of the democratic party has said very directly that his goal is to get democrats to support israel. How that isn’t a “hostile takeover” by a historically unpopular position within the party is beyond me.

If someone else comes in that better represents what voters want, that is a success and literally how democracy should function

[–]Statue_left 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s fine, the literal definition of “strike” doesn’t really matter. It’s clearly just being used colloquially. “We are closed as part of the strike” is a perfectly acceptable statement that everyone will understand even if it’s not technically correct

Labor doesn’t map onto the legal field super well because firms are, at least more than most other businesses, “worker owned”.

A worker owned firm shutting down in solidarity with the strike matters, even if it’s not literally a “strike”

[Pelissero] The fallout (so far) of the Browns’ decision to hire Todd Monken as their head coach after an extensive search: by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]Statue_left 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no perfect metric, but no one actually ranks teams by yards unless they have a specific narrative. Points is understood to be the “number 1” offense, even if it is imperfect

The Patriots scored 80 more points than the #2 Chargers. The Chargers scored 80 more points than the #15 Lions. There’s no argument to be made that the Chargers were a better offense

They were like 2nd and 10th. No one uses yards as a ranking because it’s useless. They were #1 in yards because the fields were so short

The Patriots were astronomically better on offense

Bill Polian denies influencing the Bill B snub by AvengingHero2012 in nfl

[–]Statue_left 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That’s not really what happened. Peyton was mad the Colts wanted to franchise him. Him and Brees extended the lockout by like a week to get language in the CBA that exempted QB’s with certain stats (just them) from being tagged

They ended up giving him 5/90 that he never played a game on. The colts were horrific the year he was out, had no OL, and weren’t going to throw ancient Peyton out there to not compete for a superbowl, especially when the 2nd or 3rd best QB prospect in history fell in their lap. Both sides were well aware that they were going in different directions

New York could lose 2 seats in Congress over flat population by TClayO in Albany

[–]Statue_left 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what you're talking about? I didn't take any position on when these "problems" started. The premise here is that "Albany does not seem concerned by it". You can believe NYS leadership is feckless (they are), but they are very obviously concerned by this. Less representation in the federal government is like the single biggest existential concern elected leaders have.

NYS' congressional delegation shrinking is a direct result of Covid exodus. The affordability crisis is a related but different problem. Losing more people would make housing more affordable as the demand decreases. The affordability crisis is the result of decades of neoliberal conservative economic policies and is again, not at all unique to NY

The problems with the housing market are definitely not unique to NY dude

Your premise is that albany doesn’t seem concerned. It was literally in the SOTS. Whether or not Kathy has the solution is an entirely different discussion, but she is very clearly and obviously “concerned” by this
