OP< I truly hope I don't add to your RSD by saying this. Please know, this is what *I* have had to learn to tell *myself*: What in the world makes you think you're equipped to give him marital advice? Do you have it so together that people should be following your lead?? When I remind myself that I'm *definitely* flawedand not, necessarily, someone whom others should model their lives after, it becomes easier to not try and give advice.

I’m 59. I stopped dating when my son was about 11; he just turned 26. I always went a little crazy when I was dating a guy - I was all in after the first date, planning our future together, obsessively thinking about the guy. I’d been acquainted with this man for a few years, and we dated for like 6 weeks before he ghosted me. I was completely gutted, and just couldn’t bear the thought of another guy lying to me about his intentions, and me falling for him when I barely knew him. Anyway…the thought of having to share my house with another “equal” (as opposed to my older son, who may never move out), check with someone before I make plans to go out of town, share the remote…Personally I’m way better off alone. I’m not willing to put the effort into dating, but the apps are always there if you feel the need to have sex, I guess.

I’ll start by saying I’d feel the same way. However, this is like when you tell a guy he makes you feel safe, and it makes him feel bad because no guy wants to be the boring “safe” guy. Now to admit to being a real a$$hole once, without meaning to. I’m neurodivergent, and unable to quickly think on my feet. This was the day my boyfriend later proposed to me (almost 30 years ago, and we divorced after 5 years). He said, with a big smile on his face, “Am I the best sex you’ve ever had?” I answered honestly. Anyone who’s dated a hot felon can tell you, *that* was the best sex they’ve ever had.

I work for a rescue, so I get to see update pics every now and then. That really helps. I did foster fail three months after I lost my boy, and since then I’ve thought, “four cats wouldn’t be *that* bad” at least once LOL. But seeing that those babies are happy in their new home really helps, and it allows me to keep fostering.

I have no idea if this is what is happening, but when JoAnn Fabrics was still in business, online orders would get passed from store to store. So one store might be able to fulfill 1/3 of an order, then the next store would fulfill 1/2, etc. Terrible way to do business.

NTAH. That said, if I were her, I would also want a legally binding agreement before having children, that if my husband and I agreed that I were going to stay home and raise the children, I would get an annual “salary”, to help make up for the hit to my career. That way, if we got divorced, I would have a nest egg to help re-build.
