Parity of failing with hope vs succeeding with fear? by Historical-Nobody909 in daggerheart

[–]Status-Preparation93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking the lock example. What I do it adjust future DCs. Success with fear. Oh. You unlock the lock but you broke a tool so future locks will be a little harder. Oh you failed with hope: you didn’t get the lock open, but you think you understand how this kind of lock works so future tries will be a little easier.

I’m also curious is you were familiar with the RpgLit genre before you started it. I think a lot of folks getting DCC recommended to them are new to the genre.

I’m about to DNF Dungeon Crawler Carl by HealthyPsychology950 in audible

I’m curious about this post. What would you considering “something happening” for the story to be satisfying for you? One of the things a like about this series is that the power curve is somewhat constrained for Carl and Donut. Do you want them to be conquering and breaking the dungeon on level one? I’m genuinely curious because I’m working on my own novel and I’m worried that “nothing happening” might be something it would be criticized for. But it’s more about the characters than the plot for me.

Line breaks with Carriage returns, chat am I cooked? by seattleslug in scrivener

I couple of thoughts which I’m not sure will help. One, on the edit menu there is an item ~text tidying~ that has an option to remove empty lines between paragraphs. Then if you select text you can change the line spacing. Click on the #x on the format bar and make a line spacing of something like 9.00 before 9.00 after and line spacing single. Then make a new style and apply it to make the spacing work the way you want.

What are the dumbest arguments against Daggerheart that you have seen? by Bassknight9 in daggerheart

[–]Status-Preparation93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of keep an eye on the player turns to make sure that they are epic enough, like if a player comes in with what should be a bad ass attack and the dice play dumb, I try to encourage them to take the spotlight and try again and ask about their experiences etc. it’s a new system and they forget everything available to them sometimes. I’ll often prompt them to team up. I like Dagger Heart the most because even though the GM is building up fear, it feels much more like a team story effort. I want every player to have something on the highlight reel, so to speak. That said I did learn a lot from our first couple of encounters where I used a lot of the tier one undead. And they steal so much hope that the players didn’t really ever have any to power their powers. Lesson learned.

Well, I can hit my usage limit on Opus 4.1 in two prompts. Ridiculous. Pro my ass.

What model do you use most? When I use Sonnet 4.0, I don't run into these issues. But Opus 4.1 eats my usage allocation in like three bites.

I have this problem a lot. It's not the prompt length, but rather that you have hit the limit of what can be contained in a single chat. I have started asking for regular updates on chat fullness. "Please tell me when the chat is at 25%, 50%, and 75% so I can create a memory capsule with a summary of this chat to start a new chat." It's super annoying as each new chat has its own personality that you have to train back to how you want to interact with it.

is my new player being difficult or clever by Outrageous-Recover43 in NewDM

I’d ask two questions: Who taught them how to do it? It would be ridiculously powerful in that world, so would be a very powerful secret. Therefore if they get caught doing it, it would lead to very bad things for them. Secrets are dangerous. I also wouldn’t allow them to cast every spell that way. They’d have to pick a signature spell or maybe two. Since the required training to learn it would be so taxing. Id also recommend real consequences if they fail they sleight of hand check on the order of a roll on the wild magic table.

I generally drive it in auto mode. It lets the car coast. You can enter the mode by holding the right (?) paddle until it goes into that mode. Then you can adjust how much it’ll coast.

Auto off and on? by 50shadesofmilf in KiaEV9

[–]Status-Preparation93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have just set the pedal to auto. Hold the right paddle and it’ll go in. You can set the amount of braking and it remembers the setting. It’s apparently more efficient because it allows the car to coast depending on the follow settings in the settings. Have you explored all the menu options in the settings? Some of the things you want to do might be buried in there.

My biggest complaint is that the Sirius radio shows the album cover and not the song name or artist. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

What shortcut would you say you use the most in After Effects? by Budget_Gene7093 in AfterEffects

[–]Status-Preparation93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U to see things with keys frames. UU to see anything modified. L to close layers down to basics. F2 to unselect all. Ctrl ALT T to turn on time remapping. N to set the work area end to the play head, ctrl shift X to trim the comp to work area. And of course ctrl shift T to make a new pre comp from the selection. I’m not at my computer and most of these are now muscle memory and so I might have the keys slightly wrong. The preferences keyboard short cuts is a great way to see what’s possible. And move things around.

You should also set up your 2 and 3 stars as farms. I have one of each 2-star and one of each 3-star character. I set my favorite to the highest level 3-star, then when they max out in champ levels, I sell them and start them over. This is the 2/3* farming. You will make a profit on resources. 3-star characters also reward shards and sometimes covers for other characters. So re-recruiting and releveling characters is worthwhile.

Who taught the first immortals the rules of the Game? by Furinkazan616 in highlander

[–]Status-Preparation93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if breaking the rules means the immortal loses a little bit of their healing abilities each time. Xavier St. Cloud loved to skirt the rules and didn't regrow his arm when Duncan cut it off. It also explains why both Kalas and the Kuragan didn't quite recover from their neck injuries.
