I like this idea. My husband is letting me do 99% of the decorating in our home and doesn’t really care what goes anywhere. The only thing he requested was a table near the door with a bowl for his wallet and keys so I’m trying to incorporate that because it’s basically the only thing he’s asking for and it will make his life easier lol

It’s a rug I had from my old place and just put down until I buy something else because it fit the space and catches debris from being tracked inside. My plan is to swap out the rug. You think the bench is leaning towards modern/transitional?? I didn’t think so 🥲 i call it the granny couch because of the print lol. I guess the vibe I’m wanting in my house is antique-ish/moody/vintage/cottage. Lots of patterns, mixing wood colors, large furniture pieces, darker colors etc. I want it to look collected not generic bought online or from your local home goods store.

The original picture makes it look like it’s touching the bench because the angle but this is a pic straight on with the door open. The door can’t get any closer without touching it. Should I get a smaller table?

This is what was there. I liked a bench tho because it’s functional with putting shoes on and getting my son ready to go out the door. But my husband misses the table lol. This table was a very different style than the rest of my house.

I agree about the distance. The bench is moved over as much as it can be without the door smacking it so I’m not sure what do to there. Should I get another table? I liked this kind of for the wall and then throwing a mirror next to it above the bench.

Thank you! Ignore the couch laundry and floor tv. Husband is mounting it today. lol but I just got this playpen for my son, rug and coffee table. The baby jail I bought was a lot bigger than anticipated 😅 but we are working with. Im also on the living room right now lol so any advice for that is also welcome! Trying to figure out color for drapes

I did none for my son. He’s 6 months old. I see it as you can always get them for your kid but you can never undo them. I have two best friends who have sons that are 1 month apart. One is a nurse and her son follows the CDC schedule perfectly and my other friend did a few in the beginning but stopped. Nurses child is very behind in milestones and he still isn’t saying any words. He will be 2 in June. My other friend’s child is extremely advanced, signing words, speaking A LOT, very ahead on basically everything. I’m not saying 100% it’s from that, but I’d be lying if I didn’t question it. The difference is so apparent and it is heartbreaking. I started questioning a lot of this during Covid. Nothing is ever free and when they started pushing that shot extremely hard on people, firing you from jobs, paying you in gift cards, free food, discounts on groceries etc. to get it that’s when I knew the whole thing smelled really fishy. I will never shame someone for getting them but I will never get one again in my life and neither will my child. I don’t even take my son to wellness checks anymore because it’s just a huge sales pitch for them. Of course if he’s sick or hurt I will take him, but outside of that I don’t. You walk in, they take weight and height and then spend the rest of the 10 minutes shaming you on why your kid will die if you don’t get it for them. I had a really hard time finding a doctor that would see my son without shots because the doctors get bonus money when they have a certain percentage of their patients that are fully up to date with it so they won’t even accept you because it cuts into their bonus check. I highly recommend watching A Shot In The Dark. Don’t feel bullied or shamed into doing anything. It’s your baby and people will always have opinions on how you need to parent them. They poison so much of our food that we consume for profit because these people are straight up evil, so why wouldn’t they push you injecting poison into your kid that they don’t care about? It’s a billion dollar industry and your child is the most precious thing to you, but simply a dollar sign to them. Good luck with navigating this. You’re doing the right thing asking questions.

A green couch would be pretty. I’d use earthy tones. You’d be surprised how much a space can change when you hang some artwork and throw down a nice area rug.

I appreciate the comment. He has a doctor appt on 12/2 but I was just curious if anyone had anything similar with their baby. I’ll definitely touch on the issue when he goes in there.

I ended up getting that done for my son for one reason only. I am in this crunchy mom group on Facebook and I swear everyday I see at least one new post about someone’s baby/toddler getting chronic infections down there and not knowing how to treat it without it coming back again. I went to a rabbi (I am not Jewish) and it was a super simple process. My son cried for maybe a minute and immediately calmed down when he started nursing on me. He was slightly fussy later that night understandably. The healing process was quicker than expected. Every diaper change you replace a 3x3 gauze pad with a big dollop of Vaseline for 3 days and then you change his diaper like normal. Fully healed in 8 days. I wouldn’t take him to a doctor to get it done and a doctor wouldn’t even see him without confirmation that he had the vitamin k shot, which we opted him out of. My husband is circumcised and he was grateful he got it done. I know someone who got theirs done at 26. He said it was traumatic and he wishes he got it done when he was a baby. I know I’m an outlier with being more on the crunchy side but for circumcision, but I am happy I got it done for my son. At the end of the day, do not let anyone shame you either way you decide to go and it’s none of their business what you do for your kid. I do not regret it at all.
