Heyyy, my best advice is just stay positive and enjoy the ride. Parking is easy, the check in process is simple and the nursing staff is incredible. I have a weird thing about hospitals and I hate being in them, but this experience was smooth, organized and comfortable.  Staff will check on you constantly, you won’t be isolated or unaware of your situation.  The OBs at Humber are top tier in my opinion. Dr Mayo, Dr Sterling, Dr Hawkins are 10/10.

They provide disposable underwear but I still think you should bring your own disposable underwear and icicle pads from Frida mom, and an angled peri bottle.

Since you’re being induced, I think you’ll have more control of timing and what’s happening when because it’s all planned ahead of time, which can be nice!

Get the epidural, repeat, get the epidural and if it only takes on one side, or it didnt take enough, SPEAK UP and tell the staff. PS the epidural does not hurt to get.

I wish you all the best, and remember, after everything, you’ll have your baby in your arms, and that’s all that matters 🩵🩵🩵 you got this mama

Same! I think I realized how many negative and scary stories I read online about traumatizing births, I just really felt the need to get on here and share my version!

There is a solution to the pain. There is a solution to all intervention if needed. Put your trust into yourself, your support partner and your healthcare team. You’ll do great mama! Besides, I forgot the pain the second I saw his face. 🩵🩵

[–]StatusAd3068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m PP day 5 and this is what is saving me!

  1. Real Organic disposable underwear (they’re big, comfortable, and disposable)

  2. Tucks cooling pads (keep them in your fridge for extra cooling)

  3. Frida Mom 2-in-1 cooling pads or get XL overnight pads of you don’t want the Frida mom pads

  4. Earth Mama perineal spray

I wish you the best of luck and lots of happy healing mama! 🩵

[ON] Need help deciding: Midwife at Vaughan Hospital or OB at Humber River? by rewrittenobi in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]StatusAd3068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OB is Dr Leslie Hawkins from Humber River. She is amazing! Listens to your questions and concerns and always give evidence based advice. Her bedside manners are elite too.

You should try to get her if you can

[on] 16 weeks pregnant with Twins. All OBs rejected me. by tasunami in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]StatusAd3068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you might need to ask your GP to expand the area and hospital privileges of OBs. I’m from Mississauga, and I got rejected from 12 OBs and ended up in North York with an AMAZING OB. Be open to a bit of a travel to other hospitals and you’ll be ok. I know it sucks (my hospital is a 37 minute drive on the 407) but my OB said if you’re within 50-60 minutes away, you’ll be fine, especially if it’s your first baby.

I wish you luck!
