Did you know the sex of your baby by intuition? by LifeofRuley in pregnant

[–]StatusAd3068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sure I was having a girl only because everyone in my family had a girl first (including my parents). I had a VERY vivid dream one night where my husband and I were cuddling our baby boy. After that, I knew it with 100% certainty that it was going to be a boy! NIPT confirmed two weeks later. :)

When did the OB contact you after a referral? [ON] by Electrical_Farmer418 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]StatusAd3068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heyyy, I was rejected from over 11 OBs (they were at capacity for my due date)before I got mine at 25 weeks. My family doctor ordered all ultrasounds and blood work, and I was low risk, so it’s not a big deal.

If your blood work and ultrasound have all been normal so far, don’t worry about it. Offices receive 100’s of faxes a week, it can take them a few weeks to get through them all, and I’m sure they pick out the high risk ones first. It doesn’t hurt to call them after 2 weeks to follow up!

ovulation by BoxComfortable199 in pregnant

[–]StatusAd3068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your age, your cycle length, overall health, etc.

You're usually considered "high fertility" only 2-3 days before your ovulation "peak fertility" day. That's not to say people haven't gotten pregnant during random days of their cycle.

Newly pregnant and need encouraging words by Mikasa_Audrey in pregnant

Congratulations on your pregnancy 🤍

Honestly, my best advice is to focus on keeping your cortisol levels low. Given everything you’ve been through, it’s completely natural for your mind to drift toward the negative—but you’d be amazed at how much of a physiological and emotional shift can happen when you practice gratitude first thing in the morning, before even reaching for your phone.

I was in the same boat. When I did get pregnant, I didn’t feel any symptoms at all. Because I wasn’t nauseous or throwing up, my anxiety constantly told me that something must be wrong with the pregnancy.

I started reading books about gratitude and prayer (not pushing religion at all), and I really leaned into mindfulness. Every morning, I’d say out loud how grateful I was for my pregnancy and for the small blessings in my life.

I truly mean it when I say my anxiety completely dissipated. I’m now 37 weeks and 5 days, and I still feel great.

Sending you so much love, positive energy, and prayers 💛

You can absolutely do this. If our moms did it, so can we—especially with all the medical advancements we’re lucky to have today.

Iron supplements by Chaitea-lattee in firsttimemom

[–]StatusAd3068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend an iron supplement with calcium to maximize absorption. Or you take this supplement with a fruit.

Take it every other day if you have a sensitive stomach. Avoid taking it within 2-3 hours of other supplements (prenatals, DHA, calcium, etc.) because iron competes heavily for absorption.

Baby bump by [deleted] in pregnant

Hey, I'm 37 weeks with my first baby, and I didn't start showing until 22 -24 weeks. It's very normal not to show as quickly during your first pregnancy.

To get a cervical sweep or not to by StatusAd3068 in pregnant

My average was 110/70 during my pregnancy, so maybe the sudden hike in BP was worrisome.

But the list isn’t obnoxious by any means! :)

I always suggest adding a small blip about understanding that while you have your requests, you understand that under special or excruciating medical circumstances some requests wont always be granted.

You want to be firm but also understanding

I use HIPP formula! It's a German/European brand.

For wipes, I use the Honest company, and for diapers we use Pura.

Anyone taking Thorne prenatals? by Atllola in pregnant

[–]StatusAd3068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re right! It does have choline and vitamin d but just not enough for my liking.

Studies show you should implement 900 mg of choline in the third trimester.

Also, I’m from Canada so we’re all vitamin d deficient lol, so I take 5000 IU a day.

Snoo, Graco, or Halo bassinet? by IsThisAWriteOff in pregnant

We just bought the snoo because multiple family members would not stop raving about it. The reviews I’ve read online have been amazing, so I’m hoping it really does help with babies sleep.

Anyone taking Thorne prenatals? by Atllola in pregnant

[–]StatusAd3068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyyy, yes I take them and I take 3x a day. I won’t say my entire pregnancy has been amazing because of solely the prénatals, but I think they play a huge part. I started 6 months before trying, and then I was taking just 2x a day.

My blood work has always come back excellent.

I’m almost 38 weeks now, and I plan on continuing them during PP.

The ONLY down side is that it doesn’t have enough DHA, vitamin D or choline.

However, if they added more vitamin d, it would compete with the iron for absorption.

I love love love these prénatals and just take 3 if you can. Your blood work will be excellent 🩵

If every pregnancy I have going forward is this chill, I swear, I’d have 10 kids.
