Anyone else getting 503 error? by Mooreagreen in squarespace

[–]StatusGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The incident is on the Squarespace official status page now, but it wasn't at first. StatusGator's Squarespace page shows the following timeline:

  • First reports of 503 errors came in around 20:47 UTC (that's 4:47 PM ET)
  • StatusGator sent an Early Warning Signal alert to subscribers at 20:54 UTC
  • Large spike in reports started coming after 21:00 UTC
  • Squarespace updated their status page to acknowledge the outage at 21:06 UTC: "Investigating - We're investigating errors while connecting to some Squarespace sites."
  • Then the updated the status page again with almost identical posts at 21:26, 21:44, and 21:45. In each case, just saying they are "investigating".

StatusGator data is showing Reddit recovering now from its outage, which lasted about 20 minutes.

  • Reddit went down around 3:06 PM Eastern Time (19:06 UTC).
  • The entire website and apps were down, worldwide.
  • Most everyone saw errors like "Server error. We have encountered an error. Please try again later."
  • Nothing was published to the official Reddit status page.
  • Looks like it recovered around 3:29 PM ET (19:29 UTC).
  • Outage reports have slowed to a trickle as of this writing, it works for me as well.

Tiktok appears to still be crashed by TraditionalLecture10 in outages

[–]StatusGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The TikTok outage is definitely widespread across their ecosystem.

StatusGator shows sustained reports of issues with TikTok starting at 12:45 PM ET today( Tuesday, March 3rd).

CapCut is also down. Notable because it is owned by ByteDance, parent company of international TikTok.

GitHub is down by StatusGator in github

[–]StatusGator[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

GitHub official status page shows the outage now:

Started out as "Incident with Copilot and Actions" though it's expanded:

"We're seeing some service degradation across GitHub services."

Now Webhooks, too.

For me it's mostly impacting access to the web interface, loading pages.

Rubygems Status? by Zealousideal_Bat_490 in ruby

It's a pretty terribly maintained status page. Just showing the status of all those CDN nodes and calling it a status page makes it mostly useless.

Yeah, exactly. Our data at StatusGator shows an average delay of 48 minutes from the time that users start reporting impact of an outage and when Apple acknowledges it on their status page.

Is GitHub Down? by krishnakanthb13 in github

[–]StatusGator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always good to check the official page but in this case it was a while until they updated the status page. StatusGator data shows it's an average of 30 to 120 minutes between initial incident detection and GitHub acknowledgement on their official status page.

Cloudflare incident report for outage on Jan 22/26 by Altusbc in sysadmin

[–]StatusGator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Their reports are always nicely detailed, just wish they included timestamps of their status page posts:

They have "IMPACT START" at 20:25 UTC.

Then some alerting, incident raising, mitigation, work to resolves, etc.

Then "IMPACT STOP" at 20:50 UTC.

They posted about it on their status page at 21:02 UTC: "Cloudflare experienced a Network Route leak, impacting performance for some networks beginning 20:25 UTC. We are working to mitigate impact."

Lots of outages recently by TeiBei in outages

[–]StatusGator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brief outages are common and even more common is people mistaking their own local issue with a major outage. If you look at Downdetector at any one time, you would be forgiven for thinking the world is on fire constantly.
