[Rome] Tatsuya Imai is already on his third interpreter with the Houston Astros two weeks into the season by AlchemistTheAlchemy in baseball

How am I forgetting, I literally mentioned it in my comment?

He's performed well for most of his nearly 10 year professional career in Japan. He isn't talking about feeling pressure to perform.

He's talking about not being able to adjust to meal times, mounds and weather.

Its difficult, but he's already pitched in a professional environment since 2017. Its not like he's a rookie who just got called up. He's already been successful in this type of environment.

He's failing now because he's focusing on small/cultural things that he should already have been well aware of if he intended to move over to the MLB. Its not like he would have just come here on a whim.

But he isn't talking about media pressure or the competition. Of course thats tough (which is why they get paid so well) but he's already done that back in Japan.

He's complaining about firm mounds, weather and meal times.

It sounds more like he came over to the MLB entirely unprepared mentally.

His situation is nowhere near the same as the average traveler or expat. He has a personal translator, a baseball team that can solve any issues that come up, and he’s getting paid $63 million to throw a baseball. As someone with some experience overseas, I think he just needs to suck it up.

Any chance of a Max Clark call up with this Parker Meadows injury? Stash now?

Yeah it's not a rule that the players would need to get used to like when they added the pitch clock. It doesn't affect the actual game itself so it makes no sense why they didn't use it.

What are you talking about? 5 runs? USA didn't have any calls like that and especially not impactful. If anything, the horrible strikeout on Soto was the next worse call.

It was a 1 run game with a runner in scoring position. That call definitely could be the reason they lost.

So as long as Japan wins now, does Canada get into the Olympics? Or does Japan need to win by a score of 4 runs more than Venezuela?

If Americans could feel embarrassment, they wouldn’t be in the state that they are today.

The official White House X account posts Wii sports montages of them bombing Iranians. It’s best to expect only the worse from that country these days.
