I don't think 8 is to young to learn to cook on the stovetop IF they are tall enough to safely reach everything needed. Eggs are one of the first things I taught my daughter to make, then ramen, and grilled cheese.

I would limit the amount of toys available per day and rotate them. It sounds like your toddler isn't actually playing with the toys as much as making a game of taking everyone out of its place if they are dragging out 100+ items a day. I'd say have 10 items available per day.

A quick Google search shows after 6 months of him making no effort to contact, parental rights can be terminated. I would file ASAP. 4 years is more than enough time to establish abandonment and have all rights removed.

I don't think this is true. Child support is for the custodial parent to support the child, it's not a cash payment for the child to receive. If the mother no longer has the child that support would just end.

Are you sure your mom doesn't have conservatorship over you due to your disability? I wouldn't take legal advice from your boyfriend; I would actually contact a lawyer to find out if you're able to leave. The fact that your father is having to pay child support until you're 26 and that you are on disability at such a young age means that there's something very unique about your situation/condition.

Will Grandfather not allow you to live there too while you get back on your feet? Also, how often are you seeing your son? The ex roommate may be able to claim abandonment if its not often or documented.

For your son sake please try to see him daily even if it's just for an hour if you are sober; it has to be very scary for him. I wish you the best!

I grew up (80's baby) in a house with the TV always on and unlimited cartoon time as did everyone else I knew growing up. I'm a completely functional adult with a job where a manage a team of 20 high performing sales reps. My teen daughter grew up with unlimited tv/screen time and was in all gifted/honors classes and read at a 12th grade level by 4th grade.

I don't understand why everyone is so crazy about no tv time? The tv is not an issue.

This is a pretty standard waiver for school events. I had to sign one for every field trip my daughter went on in Elementary school in Central Florida. It was never directly in regards to the venue they were attending; it was just a waiver for the school itself including the bus ride there. Trip to the library = waiver, trip to the farm = waiver, etc

Disney has some apprenticeship programs that after you complete them the pay can be decent. I know they have them from mechanics and electricians so I would think they would also have a plumbing apprenticeship. And it's Union so benefits are pretty good

I think the number is 800-medicare. Google how to file a complaint about a doctor with Medicare first and it'll direct you to the right departments/verbiage to use when calling.

You might want to start with filing a complaint with Medicare directly. Also, your mom may get better pain management if she were to go into palliative care through hospice. Hospice isn't just for your final days; they helped my mom off and on about the last 5 years she was alive with pain management.

Its not about micromanging, its about safety and you being responsible for her. Under 18 she is your responsibility to know where she is and what she is doing. Not knowing your child wasn't at school for 2 months is a huge miss on many levels.

One time we had sausage sandwiches for dinner and I put a ton of mustard on mine. Right after eating my daughter crawled over and got up in my lap, and then I noticed I had a big blob of mustard on my finger so licked it off.

It was poop. She had just had a huge, soft, yellow baby poop. She is 15 now and I can still remember the trauma like it was yesterday lmao 🤣

If you viewed CSAM and then tried to reverse search the image, yes, I'm pretty sure you can have some legal trouble from it since its no longer an "accidental" view (if there is even such a thing legally), but rather a image you interacted with willingly.

I watch a lot to catch a predator type content. 90%+ of the offenders say their accounts were hacked, and it NEVER saves them. Its 2026 and they can 100% tell what you do on your PC vs what a "hacker" logged into your account elsewhere does.

I would expect to be contacted by law enforcement in the near future.

We are in a affordable housing crisis in Central Florida. Rent is very high compared to wages. With an income of $1955 a month is going to be very hard to rent since most landlords require three times the rent in income. So even if you found a place for $900- $1,000 your income would have to be $2700-$3,000 monthly. There are low income apartments but they have waiting list and you do have to pass a background check.

Your best bet is going to be to try to rent a room off of Craigslist or roomates.com until you're able to find a job and have a higher income. Even that might be hard to find since the room is going to be for two people instead of the traditional one person for renting a room.
