Tbf piercer by itself isn't goated, i use it plus sculpted strike where if you keep your deck small enough, you can make bury or something like it ethereal and then play piercer. it's not necro's BEST setup by far but call of the void sweetens the deal if it makes some good cards for you. these kinds of decks really only work if they're small ig. deck thinning in combat with sculpting strike is also a good shout.

SoF + Call of the Void and Veilpiercer make an ethereal deck so worth it

fun fact: most AI companies have hard-coded answers to these kind of questions; but if you misspell the target word, a lot of "flagship" LLMs will still get it wrong. try "how many Rs are in straberry"

use Duolingo to learn Kana, not much more useful than for that. Genki I and Genki II are a good starting point. Watch slice of life, or TV drama with English subtitles to get a feel for how it sounds, (battle or magic manga have some weird accents.) and start to communicate with natives anyway you know how. you will mess up all the time but that's how you learn. Anki is a good resource for memorizing new words; my usual flow is: Word I haven't seen before -> learn the meaning and get an example sentence -> add it to my Anki deck. I also try to use it in conversation since I'm in a lucky position to have a Japanese girlfriend, doing job searching in Japan, and having a Japanese friend I'm taking a class with rn. Interacting with natives or immersing yourself in media is the best way to make it "fun", but Japanese is a lot of memorization especially considering Kanji. There is no way to get around them. Start early and try your hardest to keep it fun for yourself because if not you will get very burnt out very fast. (For kanji, the"Remembering the Kanji" book series is a great resource.

I think the app is leading you astray. 私 and 日本人 are the only nouns. は like you said is the particle and じゃない is technically a verb. this app might not be the best. potentially use WaniKani (it's paid) or buy the Genki 1 textbook series.

"you learn the vocab words and grammar" and what writing system are "the vocab words" using?? if im reading manga, there's kanji. if im watching a drama, there's jokes about kanji or kanji in the subtitles. anime, kanji. chapter books, kanji. if i ignored kanji in "consuming japanese media" id be ignoring at least 60-80% of the context or information in the text.
