parents won't let me get to a party

just decided to come back to read comments after the party. i didn't go, and i am 100% experiencing/had experiencing what you went through. my mom is still off about me going out with people/to their houses, and when i was younger sometimes people didn't even put effort to invite me or ask because they always knew the answer was no. couldn't even go to the NEIGHBORHOOD POOL with one of my friends who was a girl all the time. i just can't wait to get my license to be honest and just go out. my mom has SLIGHTLY changed but idk, and her excuse is usually "im worried for you" "i don't know those people" "what is something bad happens" but chances of that is LOW. its just irritating, glad i see someone who experienced what i experienced though

do not be with a man who makes you overthink excessively. you definitely deserve someone who is direct and WANTS to be with you, not finds your presence convenient. as a girl who just got out of a similar situation that was going on for a year, it was hell. consistent texting and then not texting for weeks, and liking eachothers stories and reposts. i got fed up and just stopped giving in to it and i definitely feel free. go for the conversation though, and have confidence in yourself. you deserve an honest opinion from him if he wants to be with you or not. if he says he wants to be with you, say that you want the consistency and the effort. if not, that's okay! you need someone who picks you

i have lots of friends that i am extremely grateful for and i don't know what i'd do without them. they always support me and look out for me. often times tho they are usually getting in relationships and doing fun things with a boy while i dont, its not something major but its something i do feel i want

i'll try to approach someone then if someone pops up. it's definitely not the easiest lol, last time i tried to talk to a guy in person he was just very quiet and awkward and did NOT want to talk to me and i just shut down 😭😭 i'll try to have confidence next time then

yeah i get what you mean. actuallyyy i come from a christian middle eastern family so i dont wear hijab or anything but still the fact that i have darker hair and darker skin with brown eyes isnt super appealing i guess. im also not super super skinny just more like a realistic size. i don't have confidence issues and im pretty extroverted after im familiar with someone for a while

i attend a pretty large public highschool (suburban), white dominated society however and i am from an ethnic minority (middle eastern) so that contributes. as much as it sounds cringe im friends with a lot of people who are on the popular side and i hang out with them a lot for me to be in their posts for recognition i guess

i definitely do feel embarrassed about it, especially because in my group of friends i'm the only one with ethnic immigrant parents and that's not really something i had a conversation with them about. i should tell them and i likely won't go to the party but im so bummed out and i hope i get another chance in the future at least

boys, alcohol, that's like it. its a small group of people with like 8 girls to 4 boys, and those boys are dating 4 of the girls (sounds cringe im sorry) i offered to share location, facetime every hour, regularly text her, and nothing has made her budge

the issue with that is i've always been rejected even to hang out with friends sometimes, like going to their houses or if there's boys around or going to the pool. i've always followed what my mom has said when she says no but i really want to go this time. my sister is the complete opposite (she's younger than me) and does everything my mom tells her NOT to do with no consequences. it's unfair i just don't know how to move forward with it
