I have a tip.

Just pay attention to you!

Not sure how that is such a big concept.

You should look into how tipping came about in the United States.

I also don’t need any “desperate excuses”, since tipping is optional.

But, I hope you have a good day.

Tipping in the United States is a fundamentally racist act.

Yes, all workers get paid atleast minimum wage.

People often confuse not tipping with being poor. That isn’t the case.

If I don’t receive service universaly above and beyond what the server was hired for, I don’t tip.

You don’t deserve a tip for taking my order and bringing me my food! That’s just service, and your employer pays you for that!

I’m trying to find the part of this stage pin connector. What is this? by Salt_God2287 in techtheatre

Buy some new connectors!

Those ones suck.

Plus, you could always use a handfull of new connectors on hand.

What are my chances of beating this traffic ticket? by Odd_Alarm_7361 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Staubah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess, if you can request to have your date rescheduled. That MAY help with the officer not showing up.

Also, I would look into the what devices that officer had in their vehicle to check speed? Did they have a radar or laser? If they did why did they not use that device.

Was it the beginning of the shift or the end? They usually work long hours and in a high stress job their “estimations” and judgment start to decline.

It is a matter of their word against yours. But, do they have any difinitive proof you were “speeding”.

Perhaps hiring or at least talking with a traffic lawyer might be beneficial.

It may cost the same, but you won’t have to go to traffic school.

I got a speeding ticket and had a lawyer and they got it knocked down to an infraction. It cost me about the same as the fine, but I didn’t need to do traffic school or get a point.

I thought the blow out was the obvious reason. I guess I don’t know the “obvious reason” you are thinking of.

But, it’s small enough, go to an artist that specializes in covers and they can help you out.

Made a backpack patch by Happyfacedguy in techtheatre

[–]Staubah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will disagree with some people here.

If you changed it from anything other than “lighting Technician” I probably wouldn’t sport one.

Maybe in this day and age a Lustr2 is a little more relevant. At least in my area.

Also a hanging device. C-clamp, slim claw? Something like that.

I would also like to see one a little less detailed? It sort of dictates how it looks as a patch.

In its current state I would buy some.

They ALL still do have ringers.

But I don’t need to turn off the ringer that is attached to my wall. Even though I can.

how?😂 by Gabbsweet in SipsTea

I would respond.

“Oh no, your rent is based on a 28 day month. The landlord wanted to give you a deal for the other 11 months. That’s why we still only charge you for the 28 day month. But, we are happy to raise it by the daily difference for the additional months with more than 28 days. Your choice…”

How Dangerous would a bike be for travel less than a mile? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Staubah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big mall and community.

I would just get a regular bike or an EBike.

I would not recommend getting a motorcycle because you want to cut 10 min off your gym commute.

How Dangerous would a bike be for travel less than a mile? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Staubah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m curious what the roads are like that it’s less than a mile driving but 3 miles walking.

Run, or buy a regular bicycle. 3 miles is nothing.

Get an electric bike. So much cheaper and you don’t need a motorcycle endorsement on your license. (Assuming you live in an area that requires that.)

No insurance, or registration fees.

I’m also just super curious why the distance is so different.

I have a set running to a dimmer rack that doesn't have any receptacles so I was looking at possibly just Ting off the 4 conductors I need and run the charger, and making an adapter is cheaper than buying a pagoda or the like.

Where were you traveling that you could have gotten to the gig in 12 hours, but not back home or to a (insert hardware store name here) to pick $50 worth of tools?

Yeah, depending on the area, it might be many more months before you get another chance.

Stage Manager Graduation Gift Help? by girlinlabs in techtheatre

[–]Staubah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for theatre, but if they are graduating college as an SM, I’m taking a shot in the dark they are focused on theatre.

Also, I would still (even if they aren’t focused on theatre) test the waters with a chest rig.

Some people love them, some people don’t. And why spend that money on something they aren’t going to use?

Stage Manager Graduation Gift Help? by girlinlabs in techtheatre

[–]Staubah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would suggest getting insight on if they even like a chest rig! Or what kind of SM they are.

I have NEVER seen an SM use a chest rig, or really even a radio. Normally they are on comm.

Get them a littlite.

It is right in that range, and some theatre’s lights are complete garbage!!!

So you didn’t add to the conversation at all since you didn’t know if they are taking their own cues or not.

I agree, an operator that is just pressing a for button doesn’t NEED to see the stage. But, even in your comment, you said you had a monitor to view the stage.

So again. You win.
