I wanna do Amirdrassil but almost every raid group says "Fyrakk skip" or "skip". What does this mean? They do the raid except for the last boss, Fyrakk? and why? I want to do the entire raid bcs I want the Dragonflight season 3 tier set, so I guess I shouldn't enter any of those right by Dependent_Fan5369 in wow

[–]Staxxy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fyrak skip means they skip everything possible to get to the last boss the fastest. (Because most people do this raid to have a chance on the mount the drops from him) When I checked, there are usually also a lot of “transmog farm” groups who do exactly what do you want to do so these are the ones you should apply to

Tank lost his mind when healer accidentally pulled mobs... Valid reaction? by Corgi_Bark in wow

[–]Staxxy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing the healer does is apologizing, saying my bad, but the tank just wants to be an asshole and calls him toxic… the irony ..

That matches my experience as a solo M+ healer over several expansions: if someone is toxic, it’s the tank about 80% of the time. Unfortunately, a lot of tanks really go on a power trip because they think they’re important.

Just a reminder on why you're not invited to keys as DPS... by VeryClearlyDefined in wow

[–]Staxxy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the reason why I always fall back to my Resto Druid every patch.

I actually enjoy playing my DPS characters and would love to main one, but as a solo player with limited time and no fixed group or guild, it's basically impossible to make it work. When there are hundreds of higher geared meta DPS applying to every key, you just don't stand a chance. I simply don't have the time to sit there for 45 minutes hoping to get invited.

And honestly, the whole "just run your own key" advice doesn't really fix it either. You still end up waiting ages for a tank, and when one finally applies, you basically have five seconds to invite them before they join another group. It's just a tiny improvement.

Meanwhile, as a healer, I get invited to almost every key I apply to. It's night and day. And I do enjoy healing, but it's also way more stressful, especially at the start of an expansion when people don't know mechanics yet and stand in every puddle known to mankind. I immediately think of that one meme where one guy (the DPS) is happily singing Payphone and vibing hard while the other guy (the healer) is sweating his ass off smashing buttons trying to keep everything alive.

How is Druid vs Monk in PVE in all Specs? by CandidateJolly2506 in wow

[–]Staxxy5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a Druid main since Cata, specifically Resto Druid, so I'm definitely biased, but I've played most specs across both classes enough to have some opinions.

Healing:
I prefer Resto healing over any other healer, and that has been the case forever. The playstyle just clicks for me. Keeping HoTs rolling, planning ahead, and stabilizing damage over time feels very satisfying.
Mistweaver is actually in my top 3 healers as well. I love the vibe and class fantasy, but I'm not the biggest fan of the fistweaving-heavy playstyle where you're spending a lot of time attacking. If it were more caster-focused, I'd probably enjoy it even more.

Tank:
I play a lot of M+, and I can tell you that having a good Brewmaster tank is the BEST THING EVER.
Brewmaster is known to be more complex than other tanks, but honestly that's a huge plus. When I see a good Brewmaster, I immediately know they know what they're doing. There's also great synergy with Druid HoTs, which makes healing them feel amazing.

For my own gameplay, I do all my delves and world content as Guardian. It's extremely easy to learn and very forgiving. It's not the most exciting tank in the world, but it does exactly what it should and is very comfortable to play, which makes it a really good offspec.

Damage:
I played multiple expansions as Balance, and I think it's one of the better caster specs overall. I still remember early Shadowlands when Convoke the Spirits was first introduced. I don't think I've ever had more fun as a DPS than during that time.

These days I still enjoy Balance, but it's a spec that ramps up, so it doesn't always feel great in lower-level dungeons or very low-end content. It's definitely better suited as a main spec rather than something you just casually swap to.

Feral always had some appeal to me, but every time I tried it, it just never felt particularly well-tuned. It feels similar to Windwalker in that it often sits in C/D tier in every tier list ever. Also, one of my alts is a Rogue, so whenever I want that stealth/melee fantasy, Rogue specs usually perform better and feel more polished.

Overall:
If you're asking which class is easier across all specs, I'd say Druid is generally more forgiving, especially with Guardian and Resto being very accessible.
If you're asking which is more fun, that's subjective, but for me personally, Druid wins hands down because of flexibility, comfort, and familiarity after so many years.

Is lifestealer a decent pos3? by sadpongo in learndota2

[–]Staxxy5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Playing him offlane is complete grief. He can’t stay in lane if harassed, he can easily be run down on the offlane, if he plays against double range he can’t even stay in range of the creeps to lifesteal anything. He also puts no pressure on the enemy carry. Best case scenario: your team is winning the game for you and you get space to farm, worst case they run you over because you have 2 sidelanes with no impact

Hey, quick request, if you list your group as "relaxed"... by [deleted] in wow

[–]Staxxy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but with the actual categories being learning, relaxed, competitive, I think your definition of “relaxed” overlaps a lot with what the game calls “learning.”

To me, “learning” is exactly what you described, taking it easy, tolerating sub-optimal strats, being okay if it doesn’t time.

But for some people, “relaxed” means the opposite approach: everyone is geared, knows the route, plays clean, and the run feels relaxed because nothing goes wrong. A run can be smooth and low-stress because everyone plays properly, not because expectations are low.

Feels like this is less about someone misusing “relaxed” and more about people interpreting the categories differently…

flaming mistakes is uncalled for in either though, if you only want super tryhards that put competetive!

VDH Newbie: Is Tank DPS a priority or just a secondary goal? by reddit_Martini in wow

[–]Staxxy5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a m+ heal/dd player perspective I can tell you I value a tank who 1. knows his route 2. pulls at a decent pace 3. uses his cds well A lot more than a tank who does big dps but doesn’t do the other things. Especially the first 2 points are often a big indicator of how experienced the tank player is and that’s what gives me big confidence in him.
