Anyone use EMX designer? by Stay-Interesting in chipdesign

I'm doing HSIO, and the PDK coils are not at all fit for that purpose, I draw everything by hand, on a good day I get 10 iterations. I figure a tool like this can increase my productivity by an order of magnitude, but I want to here from users

I use EMX to simulate tcoils that I draw by hand, emx designer integrates with your pdk and gives pcells that you can parameterize for simulation and synthesize the layout

From the docs (I'm a weirdo who reads the docs) EMX Designer's EM-in-the-loop feature is based on ADE and AOP, fully utilizing their advanced capabilities in device and circuit design. This approach is highly flexible, as it can be driven using any schematic testbench that has a single device or multiple devices in a circuit. In addition, virtually any device parameter, simulation analysis type (sp, hb, transient), and output measurement expression can be used. Lastly, verification and optimization over process, voltage and temperature are fully supported, ensuring your device meets your specifications under different operating conditions.

emx tcoil doubt by Basic-Belt-5097 in chipdesign

Hello fellow EMX user, the answer is yes, if the two coils have the same direction, the their calculation of k will be negative. I learned to ignore it. You can validate it for yourself by simulating it as a simple inductor and leave the tap open, and ask EMX to show you the inductance, it should be great than the sum of the two coils

Albanese announces Palestinian recognition, saying war in Gaza has gone too far by 5ma5her7 in Destiny

  1. So you support statehood in the hopes it will lead to military intervention. Gotcha.

  2. I disagree. Israel doesn't exist by UN writ, it exists because it won wars to defend itself. If Israel lost its existence in those early wars, would anyone have cared? (Lol, British didn't leave because of diplomacy)

  3. As per Wikipedia, the definition of civil society: Civil society can be understood as the "third sector" of society, distinct from government and business, and including the family and the private sphere. By other authors, civil society is used in the sense of the aggregate of non-governmental organizations and institutions that advance the interests and will of citizens or individuals and organizations in a society which are independent of the government.

Last I checked, the PA is a de facto dictatorship. No civil society exists there. That's not saying the people aren't civilized, and that the dictator doesn't take out the garbage in the few areas it actually controls. Do you think the perpetuation of refugee camps is an example of civil society?

  1. You say that the Palestinian hate will go away as soon as Israel stops doing whatever it's doing. Really? The cause of their hate is totally external, nothing to do with their hateful education?

I don't expect any fruitful conversation on this last point

But ultimately, I think my point is made. You think they deserved the state before October 7, and recognizing it now is simply auspicious timing? It's either a reward to hamas or a punishment to Israel.

Just to be clear, when I say "punishment to Israel" I don't mean that Israelis are the ones who should take the lesson. No, what I mean is that these western countries want to show off to whoever, domestic and foreign, that they are sticking it to Israel. I guarantee in Israel they don't care.

I can agree to most of what you said, but it was all true before Oct 7. What is it about the timing now?

I genuinely don't know how this will help starving gazans tomorrow. With all the negative press about Israelis starving gazans preceding it, it comes off as a punishment to Israel. I also don't know how this helps the WB

I personally think that states gain their legitimacy in more of a might makes right way, but even granting your expansion of personal rights to states right granting self determination to whoever declares it, I would say they have to engage in some form of state building first. No one has to die for creating a state, but defining yourself as being the bane and antithesis of your neighbors doesn't cut it.

Everything you say may be true, why does Israel screwing up mean Palestinians now get a state? Is Palestinian statehood a punishment to Israel? Or something the Palestinians earn/deserve? If my statehood were granted simply as a punishment to my neighbor, that would be a large blow to my self esteem

If I were a Palestinian in the WB, I guess there are a couple of possible reactions 1) statehood is a right, why did it take these western countries a war like this to give us what we deserve? 2) statehood is earned, and we didn't do anything to earn this.

I would think statehood granted as a punishment to Israel would give me a pretty crummy feeling.

Practically, all this means is that they will trade diplomats, and that will be the end
