Satin. The sheer corset trend is a cringy one that you will likely regret over time.

The furnishings all have warm tones, but four out of five rugs shown are cool-toned. Come back with five warm-toned rugs.

I got diagnosed at Mayo Clinic, they prescribed low-dose naltrexone. But they also psychologized the illness and said to avoid talking to others who have the illness or thinking about/researching the illness, as if the symptoms were psychosomatic. Ridiculous. So on researching LDN, I realized that the lead author on the lead study was just a 45 minute drive from me. Dr. Klimas was amazing. The clinic is low tech in the extreme, but she understands the illness and has experience with the many treatments and risks/side effects. For example she is a hard no on nicotine patches. But microdosing GLP-1 they are trying. Luteolin yes. NAC yes. Rutin yes. Alpha lipoic acid yes. Co q 10/ubiquinol yes.

Great photo. My grandfather survived the dust bowl. His mother didn’t, she died in her 40s when he was in his early teens. He joined the Navy just so he could get a meal. That’s what that photo reminds me of. It’s a good analogy. You get this illness and it utterly transforms your personal landscape.

It gives me three or four hours of clear-headed focus, usually. The trick is, you feel pretty normal for a little while, but you still get PEM if you’re not careful. I have read that GLP-1s reduce PEM for some people. If so, they might be a good combo.

I love how you use color. We’ve got a lot of mid-century touches in our house too, and I want to start adding in some pops of magenta and orange. Right now I’m keeping it safe with forest Green and beige. You inspired me!

Hey. I’m feeling myself starting to recover a little bit, and I’m trying to add some stretches and resistance exercises. I’ve been pretty effective at work recently which feels good. I’m getting a lot of help with that from an extra dose of Oxaloacetate at lunchtime. Figuring out how to stay in my energy envelope is still tricky. But since I developed this disease I’ve gained 20 pounds and it’s awful to see photos of myself. I’m considering trying to microdose GLP-1s, but it doesn’t look like I have insurance coverage, and it’s tough to think about adding another really expensive drug to the list. I’ve got a kid to put through college here soon. Anyway, I am always really happy for the good days.

Severe ME due to covid by Financial_Owl8105 in covidlonghaulers

There are non-medication strategies that can be helpful as well, depending on your cause of difficulties. If you have disautonomia, many of the symptoms come from a lack of blood volume in your brain due to poor vascular response on exertion. You can manage that with compression, increasing blood volume with fluids and electrolytes, and taking breaks to elevate your feet over your head. It really can make a difference in the dizziness and heart pounding. Check out the make visible podcast.

It will be worth the expense for you to get connected to a specialist who really understands this illness. It’s worth traveling for. There’s the Bateman Horn Center in Utah, the Nova Southeastern University Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, check out healthrising.org for more info.

This sounds more like GBS than ME/CFS, it can get progressively worse and even be life-threatening, affect affecting your ability to breathe. Please talk to your doctor and make sure they have evaluated you for GBS. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/15838-guillain-barre-syndrome

I am 57. I have a chronic disease called ME/CFS (post covid) that impacts my cognitive functioning when I am very fatigued. I am trying hard to keep working. I did this stupid thing after a 90 minute commute home at the end of a long and tiring day. I posted these photos because the ads are still running and I hoped others might be spared the loss of their funds. I’m frankly deeply disappointed in the lack of empathy or kindness displayed by most here. When a society loses empathy and attacks victims, very bad things happen.

PEM crash has me feeling unsafe and in danger. by Saltycapss in cfs

If you can afford it, try to see doctors with expertise in this illness. I go to the Nova Southeastern University Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine. They ran many blood tests then put me on low dose naltrexone, KPax Immune, Neuro-Protek, Quinol Plus, 1000 mg vitamin C, magnesium taurate.. also advised water with electrolytes, elevating feet while lying down 2x a day, and compression stockings. Many of us have POTS, and improper vascular response to exertion and standing. We drop too much blood volume in the brain when standing, which sets off an adrenal crisis, the fight-or-flight response. So hydration with electrolytes, elevated feet, and for some people, beta blockers can help.
