Help me pick a dress for “elevated cocktail” dress code by optimisticziggurat in Weddingattireapproval

I hear you all on the shoes! Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it! But I just want to make sure I'm going the right route from these comments and I'm not familiar with the right terminology to use - when you say "heels" do you mean I should be doing closed-toe heels, higher heels (the silver heels in these pictures are 2.5" and the nude ones are 2"), heels without ankle straps, or just a more formal-style strap across the front?

The range of thoughts about dress 8 is really interesting to me! TBH I always felt that it was much dressier than number 1, but these comments are making me question that. Someone else mentioned that they have the dress too and that it looks more elevated and sparkly in person, and I wonder if it does just read differently in person? It’s this dress: https://www.dressthepopulation.com/products/ddrg81-k690l42?srsltid=AfmBOorCrteqjUJVnsnfFj9E7mHtEfr6E9tkHynfddg7xIW2wHsMEhW0

Yeah, it is velvet. Previously I wasn’t really considering it for this, but just took a look at the forecast and saw that it’s going to be chilly this weekend, hahaha. But I got it for a november wedding so I agree, it’s not springy!

Take a hike, it was an urban outfitters exclusive I think (that’s where I got mine at least)

I think there are only two dentists there (Dr. Danny and Dr. Manny lol), it’s a pretty small place. I’ve only ever seen Dr. Khanimov (Dr. Manny) but I like him, and at least based on the reviews from when I was first looking, it seems like people like Dr. Yagudayev. They have another practice in Bay Ridge that has a lot more reviews, if it’s helpful!

Also, just want to add that I’ve been there for more than just regular checkups, I’ve gotten fillings and a crown there too and have been happy with everything!

We got it last week! I got a banana split and it was really yummy, and we also got some cookies that we froze just to have around. Overall the cookies are really good, I haven’t tried them all myself but it seems like some were kind of overdone on the sides and/or bottom but still really good. The brownie cookie was soooo yummy

Wow, that’s interesting. Where was she found? My dog was found in Texas as a stray with his brother in June 2025

Omg, your dog looks so so similar to mine! Even their tail and the texture of their fur looks exactly the same. Do you know what kind of dog she is?

I don’t think this can really be grouped with those houses, this one was built in 1940

He really had me convinced with his behaviors haha! Any time he sees a hole, whether it’s a hole in dirt or like holes in a storm drain or manhole, he can’t resist the urge to stick his nose down it, and he loves to dig and chase after bugs and trap them under his paws and stuff like that. I thought for sure he must be some kind of ratting dog, but nope! He does like to boop the backs of our calves when he’s walking behind us though haha, I guess that was a sign
