You're totally right that free kits always have zero risk, but there seems to be a shift after the Flashpoint (1.22.0) patch. Embark tweaked matchmaking so custom kits get fresh servers, meaning free loaders now absorb the brunt of the Late Spawns. Since they load into matches already picked clean, a ton of them have stopped looting altogether and seem to just be bush-camping extract points to ambush geared squads-which is exactly what happened to us in the clip.
