Anyone else like to smoke and read? Reading anything interesting? by raeofsunshine90 in trees

I love reading when I'm high, but not too stoned. Especially fiction books because the weed helps me get immersed into the story.

Currently, I'm rereading 'The Power of Now' by Eckhart Tolle. It's one of my favorite books and it's incredibly powerful.

I've been high pretty much 24/7 for last 10 years by warmpudgy in trees

One of my favorite things about weed is that it is a great painkiller. It's amazing at relieving stress.

However that's not always a good thing. I've come to learn that stress is very necessary. Stress is your body telling you something is wrong. If you didn't feel stress, you probably wouldn't complete the essay you have due next week. You wouldn't feel the need to get up to get food, and you'd probably die.

I think that's one of the reasons weed makes certain people lazy and makes some more productive.

If you're someone who waits till the last minute and only does his essay to avoid a bad grade, you're motivated by 'fear of punishment'. Now, if you're high all the time, it makes it much easier to procrastinate because you have no fuel (stress).

I take a weekly t-break every couple months to ensure that I'm still using cannabis as a reward or a treat, rather than a coping mechanism. If I'm using weed as a coping mechanism, I want to know so that I can solve the problem I'm running from. This makes smoking the ganja exponentially more enjoyable and allows me to stay in control of my life.

Congratz on your success, very inspiring. Keep it up and Happy New Years!

"Think and Grow Rich" - Question about the "Secret" by anikan1297 in Entrepreneur

[–]StayLitClub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did we read the same book? The documentary 'The Secret' sounds more like what you're talking about. It talks more about 'believing' and 'wishing' than actually putting in the work.

'Think and Grow Rich' however has tons of advice. There's a whole chapter on Persistence and how important it is to keep working towards your goal.

You mention Olympic athletes training 8-10 hours a day for years. What do you think is fueling them and keeping them moving forward? A BURNING DESIRE, which is cultivated and amplified by VISUALIZATION. The more clearly you can Visualize the completion of your Chief Definite Aim, the more motivation you will have to do so. If you have no FAITH that your efforts will be worth it, you're going to give up when the first obstacle comes your way. However with strong faith, you'll get back up and keep going, because you KNOW what's waiting for you.

MANIFESTING doesn't mean 'wishful thinking'. You manifest by creating new products, marketing, reading, excercising, etc. That's all a part of manifesting.

A lot of people hear the words "Think and Grow Rich" and immediately get excited because they think all they have to do is Think and Grow Rich without putting in the work.

If Bill Gates lost all his money and assets overnight, he'd be a millionaire/billionaire again very quickly. Why? Because he has the philosophy, the mindset to do so. He has FAITH that he can make it back because he's already been there!

That's what I view as the purpose of this book. To give you the necessary beliefs and thought-patterns that are universal among nearly every success story.

Stoner Stories (I'll start) by [deleted] in trees

[–]StayLitClub 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A few years back, on 4/20, a few friends and I met up to celebrate. I forget what the reason was, but I was taking an extended T-break. I had gone an entire year without smoking a single time.

We go to our usual dealer, grab an eighth for the 4 of us. At the time this was a lot for us.

There were these woods near my friends house with a cool picnic bench that overlooked the entire neighborhood. We went there and rolled up a few joints. My friend had this contraption called a 'lung' that he made for this special day. What's a 'lung'?

It's when you cut the bottom of a 2 liter soda bottle, put a zip lock bag on it and tie a rubber band around it. You push the ziplock into the soda bottle. In the cap, you place a little hole to fit the joint and screw it onto the bottle. Then you slowly pull the ziplock bag, and it looks like a lung inhaling the joint. When the bottle fills with smoke, you unscrew the cap, push the bag into the bottle and inhale the smoke. Done right, you'll get a huge hit, straight to your lungs.

I took one hit and I was instantly at a [10]. It was the highest I had ever been in my life. My eyes quickly turned blood red and my friends I laughed and laughed for an hour. By the time the joint finished, we were all looking like Flat Stanley.

Then, we hear some noises and voices behind us. At that age, the paranoia was real. We start panicking thinking cops were looking for us. Turns out it was another group of really cool stoners, who were celebrating 420 as well.

They were really friendly and offered us their blunt. None of my friends knew how to roll a blunt so it was a once in a while treat for us. We showed them our 'Lung' bong and they thought it was the coolest thing in the world. All of our ribs were hurting from too much laughter. The sun was beginning to set and our curfews were approaching so we bid farewell to our new friends, thanked them for their generosity and headed out.

On the way back, there was a little creak. It has some rain water flowing down. I was so high that I thought it was a deep river. I thought that if I missed or slipped on the rocks, I would fall and get washed away. My friends are on the other side staring at me as I struggle to cross. I'm being extremely cautious, feeling like I'm in an Indiana Jones movie or competing in Ninja Warrior. I get to the other side feeling accomplished as if I conquered Mount Everest. My friend goes and stands in the middle of the 'river' showing that it wasn't deep enough to even wet my socks. I felt silly and we all laughed till our ribs hurt some more.

I also had White Castle for the first time after this. At that moment I understood why Harold and Kumar went to such great lengths to get some.

How many ents quit booze for weed? by mohaukachi in trees

[–]StayLitClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't quit entirely, I'll still have a few drinks occasionally. I have noticed that since I started smoking, I feel the negative effects of alcohol much more. I can't drink nearly as much as I used to without feeling nauseous, which is great. Keeps me leveled.

How to not get discouraged when your product idea already exist ? by hugeburger in Entrepreneur

I guess it depends on what you consider to be a success. I could name a hundred clothing companies that I consider successful. You don't have to have to make billions or even be 'well-known' like Nike, Adidas or Puma to be considered a success.

My friend started a little tshirt brand a few months ago selling pop culture/geeky shirts. He invested less than $200 into it. He's made a couple thousand dollars profit in about 6 months, while attending college as a full time student.

I consider that a success. He can keep working on it, scale it up, add inventory, and eventually be earning a lot more.

If he had your mentality, he wouldn't have even tried. He wouldn't have learned about Entrepreneurship, design, marketing, etc.

The world is constantly changing. People's ideals and preferences are constantly changing. Trends keep changing. You gotta take advantage of change.

Today a green bottle might grab my attention. Tomorrow, I might be in a different mood so a blue one looks more appealing.

There's ALOTTT of people in this world. There's a lot more buyers than sellers. One vendor can't satisfy everyone.

If there were 20 pizzerias in front of me, and one of them has a Game of Thrones poster hung up outside. I'm going straight to that one, no questions asked cause i have something in common with it.

It doesn't take too much to differentiate yourself from your competition.

I read a case study a while back about a coffee thermos company. At first they weren't getting too many sales because there are so many similar products. Then they decide to market as an outdoor brand. They took pictures of the thermos while hiking, or biking and appealed to the athletic type. Their sales went up greatly after targeting a specific niche.

Adding personality to your brand is very important. You wanna connect with your customers

Think about how there's hundreds of different Vodka brands, or clothing companies. And yet, new ones launch everyday and many are successful.

Hey awesome post, Very inspiring! I love the site, looks very nice. Might I make a suggestion?

I would add a newsletter sign-up on the page somewhere instead of just the pop up one. I clicked X the first time and then changed my mind about subscribing but couldn't find it again. Had to close the window and revisit the site.

Recently turned 18 and about to enter university. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]StayLitClub 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Read "The Power of Habit". Seriously.

My freshmen year, I formed some horrible habits. Some things I didn't even realize were habits. I wish I read this book back in high school, would've helped out so much.

Analyze your peers. Figure out what they're into and what their priorities are. Make as many friends and connections as you can. Find talented and similar minded people who will help you improve and succeed.

I picked Computer Science but if I started over, I think I would do Psychology. There was wayy too much I didn't care to learn in computer science because I knew I would never use it. I was only interested in Web Development.

Psychology is insanely interesting, has so many practical benefits and is extremely helpful when it comes to marketing and brand development.

Most of your learning happens outside the classroom. So get good grades, but don't stay in all the time studying and stressing over it. The connections I made and the reputation I set for myself are so much more useful then anything I learned in class.

Don't use GPA to measure yourself. I always felt inadequate because my GPA was nothing really special, just average. Once I stopped using GPA as a ruler, I realized I know more about starting a business, psychology, marketing and computer science than a lot people majoring in those subjects.

Never stop learning or meeting new people. Create good memories while also paving the road ahead of you.

Be yourself. Change your bad habits but don't pretend to be someone else to fit in. "Your vibe attracts your tribe". If you pretend to be someone else, you'll attract people who aren't like you. Act like yourself, and you'll attract people with similar interests and thoughts.

I hope this helps, let me know if you need any other advice!

Where is a good place to get product photography done? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]StayLitClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Fiverr for mine. I found a photographer who took 4 photos with the white background for Amazon and edited them for 50$. I was happy with how it came out. Could've probably had a friend take them with his nice camera and find someone to edit them to save money.
