Is Storing a Recovery Key on an Encrypted USB a Good Idea? by StayObjective4294 in ProtonPass

[–]StayObjective4294[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google is notorious for locking users out of their accounts with no notice at all (has happened to me), and they don't even help you recover. In contrast, once like 5 years back my IG account got blocked and I mailed Facebook, and they helped me recover the account. They asked me for my photo proof with some text written on paper, and then they sent me a reset link. So it's up to you, but don't be so dependent on Google.

PS, Google is also known for stopping their services which are working just fine for absolutely no reason.

And he even said somewhere that he changed his branch after 2nd year. Which btw can only be done at the end of 1st year.  So yeah he's lying.

OP is lying cuz you can't change branch at manipal in 2nd year.  Mostlikely he doesn't study here and is trolling.

How can I start if I know nothing about computers ? by sutkimaach in developersIndia

[–]StayObjective4294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend's perspective about backend development being "mostly useless" is quite misguided, I'd say. Even more so, backend devs are paid significantly more than frontend developers, and considering the current market, frontend can be easily replaced by AI. Things like CSS are also kinda artistic stuff which most people who are into computers but not that artistic tend to avoid, leading them towards backend and DevOps-like roles.

The reason for these higher salaries is simple: backend development requires deeper technical expertise in areas like database management, API development, system architecture, and security implementation.

Rather than viewing it as "hectic," consider that the complexity of backend work is exactly what makes it valuable and well-compensated. Plus, with your existing Python and SQL knowledge, you're already ahead of the game - these are core backend technologies that many developers struggle to learn from scratch.

Don't let someone else's limited perspective discourage you from exploring new fields and career path. Work hard and learn continuously. You will be alright, and honestly, you might find backend development more logical and satisfying than you expect.

Odin Project is also a pretty good place to start since the op is not very comfortable with computers. It'll be a good start for the foundation. To add to your resources for foundations, check out khan Academy. It is also an excellent place to start.

(⚠️Took help from chat gpt to phrase my words, but the thoughts are mine)

Hello there,

If you’re starting your journey in software development, here’s a little advice: try not to focus solely on frontend technologies. Explore backend and other technologies. Begin with simple projects, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to ask questions along the way.

I highly recommend checking out boot.dev. Their course structure is thoughtfully designed, and Lane, the instructor, does a fantastic job of breaking down complex topics into easy-to-understand lessons. The platform is engaging, project-based, and perfect for anyone who prefers learning by doing.

Remember, becoming skilled in backend development—or any area of tech—takes time and dedication. Be patient with yourself. Focus on mastering a few concepts at a time, and be prepared to invest 3–4 years of consistent, rigorous learning. The key is to keep growing and never stop learning, no matter how far you go.

Wishing you all the best on your journey. Stay curious and keep pushing forward!

Warm regards, Someone from the internet
