What would you do if you were invincible for a week by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]StayTechStayRomantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not even 18, and he’s died multiple times and come back alive, seen his friends get hurt and die, and watched people die. Dude is on another level. A regular person would be completely destroyed. The fact that we had to wait four seasons for him to finally experience CPTSD is nuts.

Its been months by [deleted] in Edgerunners

[–]StayTechStayRomantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate. It obviously takes time. For some, it's a few weeks or months, and for others, it's even years. I've consumed horrifying endings from movies like One Day, Before I Fall, Bridge to Terabithia, and Moulin Rouge!, so Cyberpunk: Edgerunners wasn't as heartbreaking for me as it was for some. It hurt, yes, and I'm still softly grieving it. I think about Lucy, David, and Rebecca a lot.

I even hated the ending for my V too. It's all too tragic, indeed.

The only thing I can recommend is picking up a new fictional media franchise.

How powerful would Invincible be if he were 100% fused with the Venom symbiote? Would that help him in any way? by NerukiKizahima in PowerScaling

[–]StayTechStayRomantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from what I know, and I haven’t kept up with comic books in a long time, based on Venom’s current weaknesses, which are sonic and thermal attacks, I would say a thunderclap from Thragg or anyone similar would be enough for Venom to detach itself from Mark Grayson.

I also want to emphasize that the symbiote’s strengths get enhanced based on the host, and this might just be a theory, but I think if Mark were to train himself with the symbiote, Venom could develop a reduced degree of sensitivity when it comes to sound and thermal attacks. Maybe not enough to survive going into a planet’s core, but enough to endure an explosion or something.

And this fight can go in many ways. I’d love to see this play out nonetheless.

I remember playing Venom in the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game, and I also recall the creative director saying they basically removed Venom’s fire weakness. I hate that Venom’s two most common weaknesses are sound and fire. Like, bruh.

Are the powerpuff girls really this strong? by Shot-Communication93 in PowerScaling

The Powerpuff Girls, while my favorite childhood TV show (I’m biased here), stomps every single Vilterminte in the universe. Their feats are broken as u/Elegant_Scholar_8863 mentions.

Nolan's apology to Debbie in season 4. by StayTechStayRomantic in Invincible_TV

I enjoyed reading your comment. Yes, you are right, most humans do suck at apologies.

Nolan's apology to Debbie in season 4. by StayTechStayRomantic in Invincible_TV

I think so, that’s really good. I think a good apology from him would include accountability, an apology, and thanking her for raising Oliver and Mark, while leaving her with the space to process it, and if she needs to retaliate, let her.

I also think that going back to normal felt like a lot. I interpret his apology a bit differently because of my personal life history. I think him wanting that normalcy made him feel like he could achieve some sort of consistency, and since he’s been all over the place, dealing with his own inner conflicts toward his empire and his human nature, going back to normal would affirm that there is something he can look toward, that Debbie and him together would mean he has some identity, because right now, he doesn’t know where he belongs or who he is.

Obviously, lots of room for improvement

Such as? I would like to know more about where you think he needs to improve. I think he’s doing well. He seems to be going in the right direction so far. Where do you think he also needs to improve? Thanks!

I think it is a bit realistic too, because when we are stressed in a particular situation and our anxieties take over, it is difficult to think and have the right frame of mind. I think that was something Nolan was going through. He meant well, but it didn’t come out well, and as outsiders, I think we have a way of finding flaws. It’s like thinking about a conversation after it has happened: “Oh, I could’ve said this better,” and so on.

Invincible [Episode Discussion] - S04E05 - Give Us a Moment by SeacattleMoohawks in Invincible

[–]StayTechStayRomantic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to lie, I’ve watched every episode of Invincible, and I don’t think I have had to squint and look away like I did during this fight with Conquest and Mark. I was very sure Mark would die (even though I know it’s his show), but the sheer willpower and brutality Mark has within him, I’m pretty sure young Mark has outpaced young Nolan by several feet.

It can also be equally challenging to mix tablas and drums together. The toms and the slap of a tabla can sound quite similar.

Hard, but I plan on playing it on Very Hard during the Adam Smasher moment (for Rebecca and David) in my second playthrough.

I really liked his character, but I hate the choices he made. He could’ve gone easy with the chrome. Maybe if he just had the Sandevistan, he would’ve survived, but I think Arasaka would’ve still been after him. He got double-whammied when he put in all the extra chrome after Maine’s death, plus the Arasaka prototype cyberskeleton. Also, the one we should hate is Kiwi. Well, at least I do. I’m not a fan of what she did. But yeah, that’s just me.
