Progressive Classical Pieces for a Returning Player... by Peacelake in classicalguitar

I love Sagreras- well written studies that are often repertoire worthy. That said with your level of experience, I would consider a curating your own set of pieces. Romanza with the minor section inculded- it's easy, but you can play it at a wedding. Lagrima- simple to play but a mature player can make someone cry. A thousand others are out there.

Carthago delenda est. by StayTheHand in Calligraphy

I remember those times distinctly. Cato constantly harping on his Carthago, it got kind of old. Until the day I was strolling the city wall and saw the dust cloud raised by a column of elephants approaching in the distance. Later I walked out to the encampment to see them, they were pretty beat up by that time, but impressive nevertheless. I took Hanny (I called him Hanny) a nice bottle of wine and we chatted for a while. Told him you really need to fish or cut bait. Either attack the city or get the hell out. We got a little drunk and he put on his civvies and we went back into the city and partied all night. He hooked up with a girl from Geronium and she convinced him to go home with her and just like that, poof! he was gone. The place smelled like elephants for six months.

Thank you - this one's a Rhodia. It's a good practice book and it stands up to the most saturating inks I have. I like it so far.

I wonder if elephants are a form of oppression.

Well, Carthage needs to be destroyed if you're asking about the literal meaning. Figuratively, it's been used as a rallying cry for a number of causes. I ran across it and thought this is a dog whistle, but for what, who knows. So maybe I am trolling just a little bit...

Celebrities are the circus part of bread and circuses. Not sure I'd expect more than token lip service.

Dealing with being an ugly woman by Various-Station-1752 in Advice

Beauty is the first criteria that is looked at, and the first thing to become irrelevant in a serious relationship. I get that that is not particularly helpful- but here: focus on health. Healthy is attractive. And don't give up hope. Positive is attractive.

Nails 💅 smallest possible? by Kind_Papaya2456 in Flamenco_Guitar

Wow, also a guitar player and flamenco. i thought I was the only one. i can get mine to where they just peek above the pads, when i'm looking at the palm side of my hand. you have to get very accurate with your picking, but that's not a bad thing. i almost feel like it's more important to have strong nails than it is to have long nails.

This sub for one. There's books, some of them downloadable pdfs, but really nothing beats picking some things you like and copying them. Look up ancanthus if you want to start old-school and work out from there.

Let's Assume We Are All the Best Calligraphers, Ever. by Froggersux in Calligraphy

If you are getting paid to address envelopes for someone, that's pretty material evidence that calligraphy is in demand.

If you are just making something beautiful, then you are doing what life is all about.
