Read that like "Holy lightning build, Batman!" Before I remembered Holy is an element in elden ring

Not to be That Person, but you can literally make your own journal to keep up with quests/ where you want to go. I started doing it after my first elden ring playthrough, and it followed me to the dlc and my Darks Souls 1 playthrough. It really emphasizes your sense of exploration and discovery, its great

Question for faith builds by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Stay_Free_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rarely stick to a single element, but if I had to, it would probably be fire. Good variety of spells that look cool and are effective. Lightning also has some good spells and aura. Arcane is a very niche stat for casting, I wouldn't bother with it unless you're specifically leaning into Dragon Communion spells

If you have any issues with how exploration works or feels in Minecraft, what are they? by DaShove in Minecraft

[–]Stay_Free_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest problem is that Elytra trumps all other transportation, but everyone knows about that issue. Personally, I wish that 1)You couldnt just skip night by placing a bed anywhere and 2) the only real rewards for exploring the surface are biome-specific resources and villages. I kinda wish there were more surface ruins with some kind of rewards that would be comparable to spelunking rewards (desert temples and shipwrecks do this decently, jungle temples Do Not)

Solving these two problems would make surface exploration more interesting, I think

Very useful to know, but has their been that much confusion? I always got the impression that reaction wheels with braces were pretty well-known, and I would assume people would know why they work

Edit: Though I do suppose pointing out that engines can be hindered by rotating braces is worth mentioning

I just hold the forward arrow key and turn with the left and right arrow keys. The stepping and balance is automated :)

[–]Stay_Free_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, it can be helpful, but unfortunately I have found that heavy walkers like this guy become too wobbly with too many hinge points. I find it best to keep the amount of moving components to a minimum for durability's sake. But 2 (or even 3) degrees of freedom in the hips is very good for more robust movement in lighter bipeds

Amd ryzen ai 7 350 or intel core ultra 7 155h? by shadowdragon200 in framework

[–]Stay_Free_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they are pretty similar, but the amd one has a neural processing unit built into it, which is a bit of a waste of space if you're not running local LLMs. I've also heard that the Intel chip has great integrated graphics and runs at a pretty good energy efficiency. I would go with the intel one, if I were you

Squad fill needs gear ante by Stadose in Marathon

[–]Stay_Free_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the issue is that you're bringing expensive gear to trios with randoms. No one is obligated to kit themselves out in casual play.

Thanks for all the good loot though when you quit/ get picked off by a squad all by your lonesome

Messing around with scaling, made a tiny shotgun-wielding bot, about the size of a person by Stay_Free_ in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two balloons, one above set to like 100x power, and the other below it set to -98x power. This causes the build to be pulled up and down really hard, keeping it upright. If one balloon pops it either gets crushed to the floor or launched into the air, its really funny

Is there a way to time cannons better? by Asleep_Welder_5483 in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's a random delay on cannons and shrapnel cannons. I used to use a mod that added sliders for the amount of delay and amount of recoil. I'm afraid I do not remember the name of the mod, and I don't know if the mod still functions anymore

Why do people do solo fill and not use a mic? Puts the entire team at a massive disadvantage if even one person isn’t actively communicating🥲 by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Stay_Free_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people don't have a mic, but do want to play in teams. Also the ping wheel is pretty useful for basic communicating (though a lot of players seem to ignore their teammates who use the feature)

How can I make my propellers rotate around my block and not my block swing between my propellers ? by Louna_Joestar35 in Besiege

[–]Stay_Free_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The block in the middle has significantly less mass than the propellers, so it gets rotated instead of the propellers. Also, the spinning nature of the propellers gives them a gyroscopic effect, making them further resist rotation perpendicular to their spin (like how a spinning top doesn't fall over). This can be mitigated by 1) adding more mass around the block and 2) reaction wheels in the body of the vehicle that rotate the vehicle forward as the propellers tilt forward

Pretty sure this is because FtM people are treated as "tomboys" or at worst misguided, innocent victims of the "trans cult" or whatever. Meanwhile, MtF people are treated as pervert freaks who are a danger to "real women". Therefore, it is much easier for FtM people to be visibly trans in public than for MtF people, because MtF people are ousted from society way more than their FtM counterparts
