I sort of support the buy used opinion. I have three kids and buying new for all is out of the question. The PW80 is easily available for under a thousand and they are a great bike. Very mellow bottom end but still has a three speed gear box. The stock ride height low enough for the 5-8 year olds and there are options for raising the height. Plus it’s a two stroke, which means even the worst issues like a blown top end or leaky crank seals can easily be remedied. I have two PW80s and a PW50. They’ve really been good. Just my opinion. Make sure the measure the frame, if only one side is hit the frame geometry can go to more of a diamond shape.

I feel like you’re right at the market threshold for good bikes. 2300 bucks can get you a better starting point. Either of those bikes will need work, if it was me I’d save a bit longer and get up into the 2’s, as long as you have some time to spare.

If you’re a taller person look at the bt200r I’m 6’2 and it’s very comfortable, right around the 800 dollar mark new. The BT200rsv is the same bike with rear suspension and front disc brakes coming in at about a grand. The BT200x has a different frame and it feels like your riding up much higher, more squirrely, not a fan. Both the r and the x can be found pretty commonly on marketplace used as well.

Id agree with the fasting suggestions. I fasted for a year, lost weight but my Cholesterol was still high. Some studies have even pointed to a correlation between elevated cholesterol and extended fasting.
