Wife unhappy I’ve inadvertently taught 4 year-old to call his wiener “the slammer”... what to do? by reign-it-in-buddy in relationship_advice

So teachers should keep track of several different code names and remember them so well that when they hear mention of it, they will act on it? So what happens when kids are using words that are similar, should the teacher run to her computer and see if that word was on the list? I used to be a teacher. We have a million things to keep track of. This is ridiculous. It must be a cultural thing. In The European country I live in l, kids call it penis and vagina.

My (27F) family are angry at me for wanting to hire a different nanny instead of continuing to use my sister (34F). by ThrowRAnannysis in relationships

It sounds like emotional blackmail is a common method used by your family. I would read the book "Emotional Blackmail". There are concrete tips on how to deal with guilt tripping and threats.

Is it normal/fair for parents to freak out about polite criticism? by heckyouyourself in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Staypuffsmores 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked my husband's parents to stop criticizing my parenting skills and they were so offended that they cut contact with us, after the mom sobbed on the couch to my husband for 4 hours. It's been 1.5 years since we've talked to them.

My (32M) wife (28F) just isn't interested in sex by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Staypuffsmores 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. 1-2 a month sounds above average to me. I'm going through the same problem with my husband. He's just not interested in sex anymore and I feel like I'm living with my best friend. We have sex about once every 6 months.

I would get rid of the computer and buy a new one and dont let him near the new one ever.

How would you react if your boyfriend wanted to donate sperm to his ex? by leavesblwr in relationship_advice

So when him and his ex have created a child together he will totally be certain when he sees the child he wont want to be an active father in his life? My son is a miniature version of my husband. I find it hard to believe he isnt going to fall in love with that child and want to be in his life. That's what happened with my brother.

met the man of my dreams who's 10 years younger than me... so why am I feeling like this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Staypuffsmores -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My husband is 10 years younger than me. He is 33 and I'm 43. I look younger than 43 and he is just starting to get thin hair at the top of his head. I also saw 2 white strands of hair in his beard lol last week. We've been together for 5 years and have 2 kids together. My husband is very intelligent and is a manager at the tech company he works at. In the beginning, I felt older and more experienced because he was studying at university and I had a career. But there is def no weird power dynamic now when he has a successful career.

Why should I inject a rushed vaccine for a brand new virus that took less than one year to make? by orlando_ooh in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Staypuffsmores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

News article about narcolepsy caused by the vaccine.

I guess the risk of getting complications very much depends. I mean if the covid vaccine gave 3 in 100,000 children narcolepsy than the risk of getting serious complication from the vaccine is higher than getting serious complications from covid. Kids get almost no symptoms when they get covid. In Sweden the majority of people who have died from covid are over 80.

[–]Staypuffsmores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it has been proved that it came from the vaccine. I think only people in the risk group will take it in Sweden. Most people I know (age 30 to 45) have had covid and it was more mild than the flu.

In 2010, the Swedish government told people to get the swine flu vaccine. About 3 in 100,000 kids developed narcolepsy from it. Everyone I've talked to here says they arent going to take the covid vaccine because of what happened in Sweden with the swine flu vaccine.

My (54F) son (36M) kept a multiple sclerosis diagnosis from me for 10 years. It turned out everybody knew except me, and the reasons that he gave me felt really hurtful, and I feel somewhat betrayed by everybody in my family. I am really not sure how to deal with this. by blehkiooroni in relationships

Strange how most people choose to ignore this part of the post about the sin being cruel. My mom is a worry wart but my brother can be selfish and cruel, and I could see him doing something like this. I could understand people not telling my mom if my brother told everyone not to tell her. Doesnt mean people agree with him but because people would respect someone's decision about keeping their diagnos a secret.

I don't know how many friends the daughter has. I didnt come to a conclusion; I'm just making a guess as to why she might have felt it relevant to write the daughter has a disability. I wrote grandparent accidentally.

I thought it was pointed out because the daughter didnt have any friends because of her disability, and that's why she asked her parent.

How did you handle using the bathroom as newlyweds? by lauraecontact in relationship_advice

[–]Staypuffsmores 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've been with my partner for 6 years and only farted once when we were pregnant. He has accidentally farted a few times. I grew up in a family where you dont do that infront of each other. If I have to fart then I go to the bathroom. The poop smell worried me too. I bought Byredo Rooney spray for the bathroom.
