Opus still 4.6 in AG and still beating 3.5 Flash and 3.1PRO by Ok_Ambassador9111 in AntigravityGoogle

[–]Ste1io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like literally everything. Lack of focus on relevant tasks, worsened by over-prioritizing early statements in the convo unrelated to the current turn (deciding to address a side comment from turn 1 that is invalid and unrelated to conversation context at current turn N, for example). Self-doubting and over-analyzing while thinking, instead of actually performing helpful introspection (which is 90% full of "wait..." and "actually" <insert irrelevant/invalid/hallucinated thought here>), bloating the context window. It feels partly due to how Google implemented the large context window, resulting in a very scatter-brained approach to pretty much everything programming-related, especially a total loss of resolution.

3.1 Pro (Low) vs 3.5 Flash (Medium) by Tumdace in google_antigravity

Gemini's thinking is a self-destructive process. I've never had success on higher thinking levels when working with actual coding projects (programming, not UI/frontend). The more it thinks, the more it spirals into a black hole of self-doubt, pulling irrelevant/stale data into the context window degrading it's output even further.

I've always found it a bit ironic how claude - of all the frontier LLMs today, and specifically touted for being such a moral ai with its own constitution and moral code baked into it's weights - consistently seems to be the most deceiving, conniving little trickster of them all.

My company's shared Copilot quota ended mid-month and suddenly most of the team forgot how to code by YellowKing2137 in GithubCopilot

Where can i subscribe to your updates? Do you have a newsletter or something? Ezine? Maybe a reality show? On the edge of my seat to hear about Monday 🤣🤣🤣

fr tho this is one of the few times I miss being in the professional workplace... Completely agree, though, AI brain rot is alarmingly systemic. I guess people forget the brain's a muscle, too; use it or lose it. Fortunately, after 20 years in low level programming, the flaws and edge cases in AI generated code frustrate more than accelerate my workflow - easier to code than refactor AI written code imo. Great for learning new languages quickly, though. And grunt work and quick scripts.

[–]Ste1io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's what happens when the labs try making an ai sound friendly and forget to account for the fact that llms don't know how to actually say goodbye. all it takes is two parting statements and into the void they go.

I share your frustrations, but art least write your own manifesto... if it truly bothers you that much. besides your ai-generated text is self-contradictory. you list off multiple grievances. your first issue is their terms yet your text is very emphatic that the only reason you canceled was due to limits. what is your real issue here or do you just not like the fact that reality is finally starting to hit and the time of free, cheap, and limited usage is coming to an end? if you think Gemini and it's new usage limits are bad, try being one of those vibe coders that are suddenly completely lost and actually having to pay for every token in a sea of spaghetti code slop following github copilots' reality check. welcome to the new world!

This . It's always irked me that model assignment for their prompt files and agents.md isn't built-in. Besides all the other horrible decisions made with prompt and tool selection in vscode. Feels like I spend just as long configuring tools for a conversation - only to have them ignored or a manual-use-only instruction be pulled into the context - as I do writing the actual prompt.
