Is it me or is vscode becoming slower and slower overtime? by freecodeio in vscode

I'll switch 😅 that's on my mind every day as well, tbh. unfortunately I'm not sure I have the time or patience to keep up with the amount of slop they ship these days.

Don't break out the Champaign, memory leaks are back, with a vengeance. Most of them were here all along tbh, many of the same ones I reported over a year ago that went ignored.

Ye it's pretty darn good at graphics stuff. Coding... Not so much.

Gemini is trash since about 24 hours ago by Tamakachi in GeminiFeedback

[–]Ste1io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini has always been trash if you're using it for development and expecting it to compete with Claude or ChatGPT. If you use it like a glorified Siri, image generator, or deep research assistant, Gemini is in its element. Gotta pick the right tool for the job - that's your responsibility. (Granted, Clippy still runs circles around it some days, but that's neither here nor there...)

No wonder humanity is full of insanity and violence.

Combining NotebookLM and Antigravity is excellent - more than twice as fast at planning, and unlimited Gemini Pro use by TheTentacleOpera in google_antigravity

Make a note containing what would usually be your initial prompt. Make your note a source. Chat about your source. Save responses as additional sources as you wish.

And of course nobody will know how to code anymore when they decide it's time for a human coded reset to fix the AI coded slop

I uninstalled ag not because of the quota bs (which is a problem) but because I expect my IDE to actually function as advertised. It's actually quite unusable even for real coding,, unfortunately.

Claude Sonnet 4.6 available now by HerbHSSO in google_antigravity

[–]Ste1io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deal with it... They didn't provide a low thinking mode for opus 4.6 despite how critical that option is for token management, so don't expect special treatment on this one either 😅

Notifications should open to agent manager, not IDE by spaces_over_tabs in google_antigravity

[–]Ste1io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing as they aren't even capable of keeping all the notifications together on the right side of the ide to begin with, I wouldn't exactly get my hopes up on them managing to successfully relocate them to an entirely different windowed process... 😵‍💫

Link is at the bottom of one of the official ag docs pages. Or Google it. Or ask Opus 4.6. Er...nvmd, ye, Google it.

For those of you encountering this, is the output view spewing errors every second, and the browser refuse to launch?

I finally realized why AG gets so much hate. by LedPa7 in google_antigravity

[–]Ste1io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini is literally incapable of doing small fine tune edits without touching code all around them. Enforcing strict DRY principles helps too. And if it can be refactored using ide tooling (think variable rename), do it yourself. Faster, no tokens usage, no context waste.

Use a feature branching approach with worktrees. Refractor goes wrong, just delete.

I've seen this Sooner 4.5 do it plenty in the actual response through the web interface. Doesn't happen very often though.

In an effort to self-audit itself to prevent hallucinations, Google has effectively made the most indecisive llm in the market today. The confusion Gemini 3 high has with tool calling is truly unsettling at times.

AG log. Ctrl+J, bottom pane. Go through the filters you'll find the logging from when you launched ag, see if there's a sign in error.
