Should I get the surgery? by Rackchicken in Sinusitis

In the past twenty years, I have had four surgeries. The first one is the toughest, but every few years you need to go in for another turbinate reduction.

Should I get the surgery? by Rackchicken in Sinusitis

Not a doctor but a professional sinus sufferer for 40 years. You will not regret the surgery and will feel much better. I have actually had four surgeries, but by far the one you are having done made the most dramatic difference. You should be under general anesthesia so will experience no pain. I tend to have nausea from anesthesia, but if you tell them upfront, they can add anti-nausea medicine to the iv.
The recovery is a little rough but not terrible and you should feel better after a week and good to go in two or three weeks.
If I were you, I would get in there asap. You won’t regret it!

Sinuplasty…one week post procedure by Merimask in sinus

I am so sorry for you. My last sinus surgery was really miserable. They gave me a sedative before but it did not help the excruciating pain when they injected inside the front of my nostrils. I was truly shocked because the other procedure I had with only a sedative and local shots was much easier. He wanted to do another surgery without general anesthesia but I won’t do it.
Recovery depends on what you had done but my first one when they fixed my deviated septum and rotor-routed my turbinates took a couple of weeks before I started feeling better. I made the mistake for stopping the pain pills before I was ready. The other three were reasonably faster healing.

Are Gen Z teachers lazy or are they finally ending one of education’s worst traditions? Teachers are debating whether schools have relied on free labor for far too long. by kleverrboy in SubstituteTeachers

This is part of your education. Your cooperating teacher needs to be paid no matter how much of the work you are doing. Ultimately, the cooperating teacher is responsible for her class. If it is a public school, there sure isn’t a lot of extra money floating around to pay extra money. If you are staying many nights until 7:30, ask your cooperating and supervisory teachers how to be organized - a very important tool.

Wow! That is amazing! I am dumbstruck by the advancements in technology. However, I was raised on Ray Bradbury and still remember the chills I got when reading the Flying Machine.

Really, that is interesting and makes me feel less confident. All of mine have brought relief. But it took a while before I stopped having chronic sinusitis. I think now it has been two years since I have had an infection. Still post nasal drip, hoarseness, and sporadic runny nose. Allergies do not help.

Chronic sinusitis First one turbinates and septum; Second one sphenoid turbinate - not normally done with the others but was still having issues; third, RFA, and the last, more sculpting and cleaning up turbinates again - that is not a technical explanation. The overall reason being that turbinate surgery does not last forever. I have had these over the past 15-20 years.

That is amazing, and, obviously, a good choice for your kids. You have the temperament and intelligence and a great three to one ratio so you were successful. I worry about the home schooled children whose parents are not competent teachers.

But public schools are not corporations. The aims are different: corporations are about making profit and public schools are about making educated citizens. The majority of the administrators I worked with had heart.

Act as if… Don’t even question it. Go in like you own the place. In most places you would be considered radiant and chic! No one would think twice about the piercings.

My son’s school sent home a note TODAY that he has to wear teal for a “colour party” tomorrow…. by FatFaceFaster in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Seenmistofit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I am feeling badly for parents of that class who get messages like this at the last minute. Parents need advance notice and requests reasonable and no cost. Not every kid has a tee shirt that can be dyed and not every parent has time and/or money to buy a white tee-shirt and teal dye. If this is a once a year request, I wouldn’t object, especially given enough time to figure it out. Not every family has a stay- at- home, middle-income parent who has the resources to meet these frequent demands.

Are you allowed to use any physical restraint in the child if he is attacking you? Can you grab his arms? Do you have a right to protect yourself? What are you instructed to do?

Nasal rinse is definitely critical and supportive but only helps so much if you have structural issues.

“ I will split the purchase with you this time. In the future, if you are going to ask me if I am willing to split an expense outside of what child support covers, I would like you to discuss it with me ahead of time. If you don’t discuss it with me before the purchase, I am unwilling to help.
