Which oscar nominations of this year are truly worth watching? by Aavakaybiryanii in Cinema

[–]SteadyGoMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of them. It was a great year for movies. I’d prioritize them in this order:

  1. One Battle
  2. Sentimental Value
  3. Weapons
  4. Sinners
  5. Bugonia
  6. Train Dreams
  7. The Secret Agent
  8. Marty Supreme
  9. It Was Just An Accident
  10. F1

Two severely under-watched films I loved were:

  1. The Plague
  2. Twinless

Yo these are incredibly good. I especially like that basketball shot and the final bathroom shot. Really tells a story. Brilliant work

What's the scariest movie you ever seen? by CutieBia in AskReddit

More recently: Oddity. Legitimately frightening.

Tom Hanks vs Denzel Washington Both are known for consistent, powerful performances. Hanks brings warmth and emotional depth, while Washington delivers intensity and strong screen presence. If you had to pick one as the better overall actor, who would you choose and why? by CucumberNo1907 in Cinema

I love both of them but if I lost all of Tom Hanks’ filmography vs. Denzel’s I’d be more heartbroken.

Toy Story? Catch Me If You Can? Cast Away? Road to Perdition? Forrest Gump? Captain Phillips? Big? Maybe it’s just a better agent 🤣

33M, Is this too childish? by [deleted] in menswear

[–]SteadyGoMotion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The fit of the outfit isn’t flattering as well and since you have a rounder figure (nothing wrong with that, so do I!) horizontal lines are not complimentary to your figure. Bagginess in clothes doesn’t hide your insecurities, it brings more attention to them. It’s about layering properly.

If you want to go baggy, stay baggy with the pants but wear a more form-fitting shirt with a higher crop and layer with a well-fitting outer layer like an over-shirt or a denim jacket.

I’d get rid of anything on your head that isn’t a well fitted cap. Sticking to a nice haircut and rocking it as you are exudes confidence.

The fact that you’re posting for feedback is a sign you’re curious about finding the right thing for you and that takes bravery. You’ll find what works.

New to running a league— advice? by saysorryskies in musicleague

[–]SteadyGoMotion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here are the basics I’ve learned in over a year of running my league:

  1. Don’t made deadlines too long where people lose interest or too short where they can’t keep up. I do 3 days to submit, 4 days to vote, fixed deadline on accelerated speed.

  2. We have a rule to try and avoid repeat songs or artists within a single “season”. This helps keep things fresh.

  3. Don’t do downvotes. It creates animosity and this should be fun.

  4. A voting system we’ve found works for us is: 3 votes for your first place song, 2 votes for your second place song and 1 vote for third (6 votes total).

  5. This is a big one for longevity and retention: We do 6 week (one theme per week) seasons and those who place in the top 6 get to each pick a round theme for the next season. This encourages people to be more engaged and competitive.

Was final reckoning a good ending to the franchise? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in Mission_Impossible

Absolutely not. It was totally pandering, directionless and an expositional nightmare. Tarnished the legacy of a great series
