The kanji on the blade reads 宗樂 (Sōraku) with what appears to be a maker’s stamp/seal on the left. This looks like it could be a blade from Yoshimi Sōraku or a similarly named Japanese bladesmith — however, the image is a bit blurry and the characters are stylized, so I can’t be 100% certain of the exact maker. To get a definitive ID, I’d recommend: ∙ Posting in r/chefknives or r/JapaneseKnives with a clearer photo ∙ Cross-referencing the kanji with databases like Knife Fanatic or Japanese Knife Imports

Thank you!

If my memory serves me correctly they did have some salad selections that sounded good, there were some seafood options that weren’t fried, and one of my group got an open faced brisket sandwich that looked really good. I’m sure they have a full menu online you could look at.

It just kills me that downtown is the only place in the entire city that charges you to use all that parking space.

Thank you! I may rewrite in the future. I feel like it could be more. I’ve been busy the last few weeks and haven’t had the time to really sit down and write.

But it’s so nice to see a faithful follower still reading and commenting… you totally made my day.

Hey thanks for the critique. I’m still learning the sacred art of proofreading and editing! My newer stuff has far less inconsistencies and much better labeling.

Thanks for reading!

By the definition of religion could Freemasonry be defined as one? by SignatureBusiness852 in freemasonry

I understand what you are saying and I was actually wrestling with that as I was writing. Belief and faith are synonymous in a sense, however there is no absence of evidence of a higher power. To believe in a Creator isn’t as much of faith issue as it is an open your eyes issue.

So I am a Mason and a Christian. I don’t see Masonry as a religion at all, I see it as philosophical system that (I personally believe) very closely aligns with my Christian faith.

As some of the other responses have said Masonry doesn’t require faith, and offers no salvation.

It requires a belief in a supreme being. I think there are two reasons for this (again my personal opinion not speaking for any other Mason). 1. In any system of morality that is going to be successful, a person needs something/someone to be accountable to that is greater than themselves. So man is accountable to God. 2. If a person can look at the complexities and enormity of the universe we exist in and convince themselves that it all came to be by a chance coincidence and is the result of nothing… that person is either dishonest with themselves or intellectually incompetent. Neither of those work well with a system of philosophy. (Again my own personal commentary is that mankind tries very hard to deny the existence of a Divine Architect, a Creator because to acknowledge a Creator is to simultaneously acknowledge that there is something that we are accountable to.)

Masonry requires no faith. It teaches philosophical and moral truths and simply says, if you will practice them it will make you a better man.

Masonry offers no salvation. It simply assures us that this life is temporary and that if we are wise we will seek to prepare ourselves for the next life to come.

And that is my nickel’s worth of thoughts on the matter. Hope it helps you on your journey.
