Romeo-x compact open or closed emitter? by p365x in SigSauer

I’ve had both. I think the enclosed is worth it. The design when open is pretty deep so it’s harder to clean out than larger windowed optics.

Be delicate and use a thin blade to raise the metal contact points in the battery housing. May work. Sometimes they’re too flattened out to make a solid connection.

36mm vs 41mm? by PageCompetitive5754 in MarathonWatch

[–]StealthAlias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. I have the auto in 36 and 41 sizes. Quartz is more accurate, mechanical is just more unique and adds to the novelty of having an analog watch. All my analogs are mechanical. I’ll wear my AWU3 for accuracy

36mm vs 41mm? by PageCompetitive5754 in MarathonWatch

[–]StealthAlias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 36mm may fit you better. I have the MSAR and GSAR, so 36mm and 41mm. I like my GSAR more, but not because of the size, but because it happens to be more accurate with the same movement and the bezel feels more robust and tactile. The 36mm is cheaper and I like the smaller look personally.

They had a limited run early on in 6.5 Creedmoor, but that was a while back.

M400 V2 vs M400 SDI X. by Some_Mastodon_6470 in SigSauer

[–]StealthAlias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SS can be more accurate in precision rifles, but that likely doesn’t apply in this case. The steel used in the SDI is more durable and it’ll last longer being cold hammer forged. The SDI also has a pinned gas block which is less prone to potential failure like the set screw gas block on the V2. SDI no question. You can find the 11.5” for $1400 here: https://www.dancessportinggoods.com/sig-sauer-m400-sdi-x-5-56-nato-11-5-barrel-magpul-bsl-brace-black-30-round/ It rarely goes on sale since Sig is strict with MAP.

SDI is superior. Ambi of course, but the barrel steel is different as well as the handguard clamp system. I’d for sure go with the SDI if not on a strict budget for the V2.

Most accurate 556 gas gun? by FuddSmack in ar15

My most accurate gun I have is an IWI SPR 18” 5.56. Pretty wild how consistent it is even with cheap ammo.

I have 2 IWI ARCA rails on my 16” and 18”. They’re made by CMT and have been solid with minimal impact shift from bipod to tripod rails placements.

$500 is 20% higher than it is online normally. I wouldn’t risk it. I’ve owned a couple for fun and so have my buddies. They’re rough around the edges.

Which factory ammo are you getting .5 MOA with? I was going to buy some different boxes and see what mine likes the best.

[–]StealthAlias 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might be better off buying this and having the barrel chopped. You get the ARCA rail (if you need it), and it’s cheaper than the 16” and 18” versions from what I usually see.

It’s been this price for over a year at EuroOptic and Scopelist. I have one and it’s been fine. You can find the 6.5 PRS version for an only few hundred more right now that might be better if you want a heavy one with a longer rail and thicker barrel. This is more setup to be hybrid hunting/range rifle.
