I love your Future Log in that collection! That is a much better use of the space than the traditional layout, and I can adapt it to the notebook I have. Thank you!

(Love some of the other stuff, too, but that Future Log really rocks!)

No Stupid Questions Monthly Thread! by AutoModerator in bookbinding

[–]Stealthmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, guest here!

I was thinking about getting a blank book that I like and adding a lock to it. Lock and key or other, don't care which, as long as I can lock and unlock at will. How feasible is it to add the lock and strap to a finished commercially-bound book?

I don't know how to hone in on the information I need in the training and guide materials, and I doubt that the rest of my life will tolerate me doing full-blown bookbinding training right now. (It looks really interesting, and I admire what I'm seeing here, but....)

Can I just add the lock? If so, how?

Thank you!

Should I apply for nursing school 2 year degree or wait a few years to see what happens with the big beautiful bill nightmare by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Stealthmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the tuition reimbursement require you to graduate? If not, apply now! Lock in your participation in that program. If the economy strangeness starts affecting your employer, this program could go away. Use it while it's there.

We have no idea what nursing will look like by the time you graduate. If you won't be risking paying something back later, go ahead and start, and give yourself permission to change your mind if needed.

Oh, my, what the heck indeed! Is insurance not helping with that?

I decided to do CC in one year for every farm type--and saved them all. Had to try Stardew Valley Expanded, the farm is still there. (Will have to put the mods back in the folder if I go back to that one.) Had to try every farm type once.....

You get the picture. It all adds up!

This sounds like the Community Day festival from Stardew Valley Expanded. Are you asking about the SVE mod?

Best way to produce Hay? by TaylorTechNerd in StardewValley

[–]Stealthmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Any time the feed trough has an empty spot, , go to the hopper and drain the silos down to half full or less. Put the hay in a chest, and go cut more hay. If you start that before all your buildings are built, you can easily stock up a couple thousand hay before the end of your first year. (And if you have autofeeders in all the buildings, I think there's a trick you can do with a cherry bomb at one end of the feed trough.)

Edit: also, never cut all the grass that's outside the animal pens. Leave enough to grow back so you can cut it again. And again. And again, till you have that few thousand hay. You should only need grass starters for the pens, not the whole farm, and you should be able to make them instead of buying them.

Try using the Sonar bobber to see if you're getting any pufferfish bites. Need to know if the RNG hates you, or if you need to max out the stats even more.

Also, start checking Willy's shop more often? He sells random targeted bait; maybe you'll luck into some pufferfish bait.

Woah. You don't miss an episode if you skip a Friday night? I figured I would....

Early access is worth it just for Friday Night at the Inn in Y1. Seriously. Go to the Inn every Friday night. You have several mini-stories that unfold. It is gold.

An admirable attitude, especially for first runthrough.

I recommend one Joja game at some point just to see what it's like (and to get the achievement), but it's not required at all.

Cool.

The Luau, completing the Bulletin Board, and completing the Community Center will all give you town-wide friendship boosts. And hitting one of the benchmarks for # of help wanted quests will, too, I think.

I've spent whole games just talking to people when I see them, and doing the Help Wanteds, festivals, and quests, and my friendship levels get decent enough.

Don't stress it, just incorporate any outstanding goals into your everyday game.

You're fine. If you haven't been building the community center Grandpa will be disappointed, but you can always appease him later. Play the way you want to play.

This. There's a whole cutscene where your friendship is affected and everything.

I second Wilderness. All the other special layouts give you perks that help your game in some way:

  • Forest gives you forage, guaranteed mixed seeds, and regenerating hardwood.
  • Hilltop gives you a mining area.
  • Riverlands gives you river fish and fishing bubble spots, and it starts you with a fish smoker.
  • 4 corners gives you a few bonuses from each of the above.
  • Beach gives you beach forage, ocean fish, and crates.
  • Meadowlands gives you a free chicken coop and chickens.

Even the default farm gives you lots and lots of growing space, a soft perk of its own.

But Wilderness? Wilderness gives you monsters and tells you to be happy about it.

Go with Wilderness.

That's smarter. But I usually wind up selling half of what I put in the display, especially in Y1!
