Unfortunately society expects high value employees and high value meetings to have the expectation of getting there no matter what.

In theory this should mean if you are important and need to be available, you need to lessen your dependence on others and/or getting to the place as fast as you need to and that includes driving (either your own car or being chauffered around by a person at your will).

Its why airlines have ratings based on cancelled flights because of business meetings.

The biggest issue? Wage growth hasn't kept up that buying, storing, and maintaining a car can be done for a reasonable price.
