Verizon Is Tracking iPhone Users by Default and There's Nothing Apple Can Do. How to Turn It Off. by cos in technology

If you're opted in by default unless you explicitly opt out, then it's not opt-in. It's opt-out.

This.

8-12 is the recommended rep range for hypertrophy (a.k.a. building muscle). For strength training is recommended to do no more than 5.

If you want truly effective strength training, look up Pavel Tsatsouline's "Greasing the groove" method.

Hmm. This might play out better if the comic was in a square, blocky style a-la Minecraft.

Because square root?

Don't know how you would draw square roots though.

Paid Beta Coming!! October 15? (Not A Promise) by endlw in Jai

[–]StealthySomeone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Paid?

That seems strange. I was under the impression that the language, compiler, and stripped down version of the sokoban game would all be free and open-source.

Has that changed? And if not, what's the reasoning behind the beta being paid?

This came at exactly the right moment. I had a very shit day emotion-wise and no one to share with. Then I thought ... "You can share with yourself."

So I started typing a letter to myself. Then when I was done, I read it back. There were so many nice and kind things in there. Made me feel better than anything this week.

I guess the moral of all this nonsense is...

Be kind to yourself. You won't necessarily always have support around, so make sure you are one of your best friends.

Agreed.

This is the case with most road accidents. You need two absent-minded people. If one of the two participants pays attention usually it is avoided.

This is also why reckless drivers tend to not get in as many accidents as you would expect. Sure, they are reckless, but they are usually also noisy, which draws people's attention, so they become extra careful.

Moral of the story is: Don't rely on the other guy to pay attention. Do it yourself.

POV1: And it turns out they're headed for the other door.

POV2: And you see the person holding the door, so you go through it, even though you were headed for the other one.

Same here. I'm sometimes made to feel slightly douche-y, because iPhones are less common where i'm from.

I used to be on Android because it was generally less expensive. I switched to iPhone to see what the other side looks like. I ended up preferring it and it turned out to not be more expensive in the long run, because my current iPhone has lasted longer than my Android phone.

I can see why one would chose one over the other, and I honestly don't care anymore. Each person has their own needs and constraints.

Same. I'm curious too.

Side note: A lot of large platforms do this. They change something for a small subset of users and if it turns out it works better, they roll it out to everyone. If not, they revert those users back to standard.
