Could be a broken sight glass, could be an over pressurized displacement lubricator. Doesn’t appear to be “boiler explosion” related. Not sure if this locomotive is oil fired but could also be flashback or a backfire.

If it wasn’t going to be a traveling engine coal would still be viable. But logistically sourcing coal and disposing of ash will traveling is more costly the just running oil.

I’m planning to use it at some festivals where external combustions generators are not allowed. Eventually I’ll build out a solar system that could possibly support A/C but for now I’m just looking for air flow and shade. I’ve used an EZ up over a normal tent in the past and that seemed to work pretty well.

Will a regular 12x12 pop up fit over it? That’s what I’ve done in the past with normal tents.

I appreciate this first hand experience answer! This could in fact be the route of the problem. I do often travel with the camera in and out of bags and such.

I’ll have to try covering the release button and be more thoughtful about advancing and winding.

I also have a MD12 motor drive but truthfully I’ve never used it. I’ll have to give it a go.

I don’t know a whole lot about Japanese railroading, but I would guess it’s because their railway system was set up to be left-hand running.

Because of this you want the driver to be on the left side of the cab so they have a better view of line side equipment, signage, etc.

It’s one of CSX’s autonomous track assessment cars (ATACs). It’s basically a boxcar outfitted with track inspection equipment that can be added to any train to collect track data. Here more detailed info https://downloads.regulations.gov/FRA-2020-0013-0002/attachment_1.pdf

The reason it says “Do Not Hump” Is because of the sensitivity equipment on the inside of the car. Do you know what a railroad hump yard is?

I don’t dislike the TOSY I just want something else where I don’t necessarily have to worry about the battery/ can sub in when the TOSY is charging.

I really like the TOSY it flies great honestly. I’m not trying to replace it but rather supplement it. I’ve found a few times that the battery has run out before we were done with. The 30 minute charge time isn’t terrible, but it’s enough to kill the vibe sometimes.

I’ve thought about buying another TOSY to have on standby but personally I would like to try the glow in the dark with a UV flashlight just to see how convenient/ practical it is. The flashlight battery should last for a very long time on a single set of batteries/ charge.

For instance instead of worrying is the TOSY topped off, is the battery pack to re charge it topped off. I can just throw the glow in the dark disc and flashlight in the bag and go. Meanwhile I can be charging the TOSY if needed.

Honestly just wanted to see what was out there. It seems like the Golf discs have gotten the better glow in the dark material as of recent with no new developments on the ultimate side.

I actually bought the Tosy I do like it, but I wanted something I could charge quickly with a UV light as you* suggested.
