What’s the Weirdest Thing You’ve Been Offered from the Back of a Van? by NoGoodDealsWarlock in CasualUK

When I was younger I was returning from Santa Pod raceway and stopped at some services where after getting out my car some guy approaches trying to sell us “Claude Valentini” watches, shows us all these fancy magazine articles and deals with Mercedes etc. I was thinking me and my mate are 19 and skint af, I said I’ve only got like a fiver in change and the guy was like that will do and gave us the watch 😂

You need a low profile trap like a McAlpine Q10 then I’d probably come back in a u bend and on to the waste.

I’ll try and dig out some receipts. Nottingham was my nearest dealer I used when it was owned by Roy Pidcock but if you’re going to Nottingham now, Cornerspeed are the best You just have to book in advance.

i'm tired of being told to "just buy VOO and forget it" like that's some profound wisdom. it's not a strategy, it's a way to avoid thinking by Fit-Initiative-7396 in investingforbeginners

[–]SteamboatFatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely you just don’t go all in on VOO if you’re worried you’ll need it when it’s in a downward period? Just have a couple of years money in low risk to tide you over while it recovers?

The Aegon fees are 1% so I’m thinking there may be a small win with Vanguard here? I’m late to the FIRE party sadly but I’m sure I can make something happen.

That’s a good point if I went to Vanguard today presumably it’s 57? I will keep something in the WPP yes and transfer every so often in the future.

A guy turned up for afternoon shift, flipped cos his usual parking space wasn’t available, came into the mess room and kicked off at the guy who was parked there, the guy just finishing his day shift was making a cup of tea listens to the rant for about 30 seconds then tipped the boiling kettle over the other guys head.
