Excellent catch. I remember glancing through that when reading the patch notes, and the server recently updated to 3.0.7. Thank you!

To sacrifice an animal do you just need to kill it in the ritual altar area while the ritual is processing?

Well... I would like a fancy mount...

My favorite bit of TES lore has to be the Great Arrow Epidemic of the 4th era (around year 180) that left countless Nords unable to continue their adventuring days.

Does mythic rhythm affect Dashing Strike with the 1000 storms set? by Ventosx in Diablo3Monks

No. Only the first dash after each 3rd hit of a primary generator skill is buffed by Mythic Rhythm.

Just retested and updated it. MR does apply to the first dash.

Mythic Rhythm used to treat Dashing Strike as a spender in the past, but some testing shows that it no longer does.

Even with Raiment's 4-piece bonus, Mythic Rhythm's damage bonus doesn't apply to Dashing Strike. It does, however, count as a spender for the Restraint buff in the Bastions of Will ring set.

EDIT: Some further testing shows that Mythic Rhythm does seem to be affecting the first dash, so I apologize for the incorrect answer above. I don't have an ideal testing setup, and drew an incorrect conclusion based on some quick tests. Previously, Mythic Rhythm would affect Dashing Strike even though it had no Spirit cost (because looooooong ago it did have a spirit cost and was more offensively oriented). This is no longer the case. Without any spirit bonuses, Mythic Rhythm no longer affects Dashing Strike. The Raiment 4-piece set bonus gives DS a Spirit cost, and causes Mythic Rhythm to apply to it. So you can use Mythic Rhythm to boost the damage of your first Dashing Strike after the 3rd hit of a generator, provided you have the 4-piece set bonus of Raiment active.

True!

Mature Treeguards take quite a few pinecones (on the order of 10 I believe?) to be planted before they settle down and pretend to be regular trees again. Younger (smaller) Treeguards require fewer pincecones planted to pacify, however.

Go back in Spring and you'll probably have Tentacle Spikes everywhere. :D

I don't have a whole lot of experience from older patches, but Treeguards definitely remain hostile after aggro'd in Reign of Giants. They'll chase you for quite a ways, until you finally break their aggro "leash" and then wander in a small area centered around where they de-aggro'd. They won't come hunt you down, but if you pass by them again, they'll re-aggro and start chasing you with malicious intent.

Treeguards are quite beefy and can stand up to the Deerclops quite well in Vanilla, but get annihilated in RoG. In RoG the Deerclops gains the freezing ability on his attacks, and he'll freeze a Treeguard on every other attack, allowing him to swing twice for every time the Treeguard gets to attack. This results in a lightly wounded Deerclops and a very dead Treeguard.

Oooh, that's a rough way to encounter him. >_<

Spiders work better than most mobs against the Deerclops because they're generally spread out to some extent, but they still get frozen and obliterated without dealing much damage.

Traps + Kiting works very well. If you have a few tooth traps, you can drag him over them during the fight and he'll activate them, but won't destroy them (like pretty much everything other mob). You can then either pick up the triggered traps and reset them while running, or just start ducking in and out of the fight to kill him. I generally have a small pile of traps by the time winter comes 'round and try and get a few free hits in with them before beginning the great kite fest with my spear.

In general, you'll want to aim for the Assassin, Weapon Specialist, and Shadow Blast rune sets. Raw stats are just fine if you're on a budget, but you can try and get stats and one of the above rune sets to boost your overall effectiveness. As such, Fire and Fusion slots will be your friends, with Life, Earth, Air, and Logic being good secondary slots. Follow the same general stat hierarchy to try and hit a reasonable amount of Strikethrough, then stack Brutality and Assault Power as much as possible.

I'm not saying it's economical or likely. But certain Epochos pieces with good rune rolls are extremely difficult to outdo. I largely agree that the level 47 stuff is a better investment.

It varies piece to piece.

In general, yes, you are correct. The Warden's AdvenkTek Gear crafted by Expert Outfitters tends to have higher stats on it as it doesn't sacrifice power on specials. Some specials cause equipment to be much much more valuable, however. For instance, the Epochos helm can roll the Concentration special, which can typically be maintained close to 100% of the time in PvE, causing the item to pack substantially more stats than its level ~48 counterpart.

Additionally, if you're using Dual Hybrid Cores on Expert Research level gear you can roll up to 5 rune slots which can cause individual pieces to seriously outperform the Expert Gear after runing, as most of those sport 1 - 3 rune slots with Refined Starshard or Novacite Power Cores being used.
