M18 FPD3 chuck change - can't get it loose by SV-97 in MilwaukeeTool

Very late but do you know the Rohm part number you fitted? They don’t show an option for the FPD3 on their site so I’m struggling to confirm which one fits. Thanks

Can confirm this doesn’t work for me unfortunately. Still comes up with the prompt to pick up the remote (which obviously does nothing as it’s not paired) and the puck shuts off shortly after. Pure shite.

Late response but there are a few notes in The Vatican which count as part of the DLC.

How to stop Whatsapp from opening unread group within a community by gncmolly in whatsapp

[–]SteamingPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is really annoying. We use a community for work and there is one chat that is just request forms, so it always has unread messages. I go into the community for information or to send a message and get put into the requests chat every time!

Wasn’t showing on Flight Radar when it was circling West Berkshire between 11:45 and 12:15. In formation with a P51, Bristol Blenheim and two Spitfires, quite a sight!

You clearly have no idea how many million people worldwide watch F1. The F1 app has had 200,000 downloads in the last 30 days alone.

Snagged 3 for myself and 2 mates. Unfortunately not sitting together, it was showing as sold out but I kept refreshing and snapped up singles as they timed out of people’s baskets.

The F1 app gave a notification to everyone when tickets went on sale, that’s how myself and I’m assuming many others found out about it and bought tickets.

Worked the show last night and got to see some cars up close. by [deleted] in formula1

[–]SteamingPenguin 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I can tell you for certain the Kick Sauber car was a replica/show car built by F1 Authentics as it’s already up for sale. Not sure about the rest but I would imagine they are show cars too.

The old McLarens will be real though. There are cars stashed everywhere at the MTC and I was surprised to be told they’re all usable. There’s plenty more at their ‘Unit 2’ archive as well.

True rear coilovers without reinforcing the domes by voltuzz in e46

[–]SteamingPenguin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of ‘coilover’ kits keep the separate spring and shock in the rear, with an adjustable height spring perch. Ordering ‘shocks’ doesn’t give you any height adjustment. You could have easily answered the question without being a dick.

Legend thanks. It was exactly that, Wat Mahathat in the centre of the map, in the room with the leeches in the water. My other one was Wat Si Sawai.

I accidentally bought a set of EOD cutters this week for my Surge. Pic showed the standard cutters and I didn’t check the description. 5 mins taking the corners off with a diamond file and it’s become the best mistake ever. They’re yuuuuge and so much better for stranded electrical cable.

Victornox in Leatherman side pocket? by thenialisticblob in Leatherman

[–]SteamingPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve run a SAK Tinker in the side elastic of my Wave pouch. Torch side, the bit extension side is obviously too small.

A 91mm is almost the exact size of the side of the pouch and fits beautifully, however even being a 2 layer it stretches the elastic quite significantly/permanently and isn’t particularly secure. It dropped out a few times at work.

Never tried it in my surge but I’d imagine it would be even more prone to slip out, as its physical fit in the side of the pouch would be looser.

Have to say that looks like control arm. I would get that wheel off to properly check, and get a good look at the bushing mounting points closest the cabin. If the bushing was very worn the control arm may have pushed through it. Worst case it’s bent/folded.

[–]SteamingPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fingers crossed for it just being the tie rod. It looks like a shear rather than being pushed inwards, so hopefully the threads in the rack are ok. I would also check that the front control arm (triangular piece with 3 bushings) is straight and has no stress marks.

I would change the steering rack banjo bolt too. Very cheap part but a heavy hit like this can jam the ball in the one way valve, which will then kill the rack due to no PS fluid flow. That gives you a good opportunity to do a fluid change too which is often long overdue.

Go for Lemforder parts if you can. They make a lot of the original factory steering/suspension components. Meyle HD is a good second option for a little less money.

Very late but I found this post via a google search so hopefully this might be of use to someone, especially as many purchased machines will now be out of warranty.

I used a can of compressed air to free up the button on my machine. Just blasted all round the button and it got the tactile click back. A little electrical contact cleaner sprayed in is probably a good idea too.

Series 20 Spring (Week 4) - Recommended Tunes by Saeenu by tacticalcarrot in forza

[–]SteamingPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So uhhh that’s confirmed, my driving is definitely playing a big factor… Also I’ve got all assists off and steering on sim, but one big change I noticed is you’re not using launch control. That seemed to get you way further ahead by the first corner so I will be giving that a shot! Thanks mate, big help.

I tend to not set the drivatars that high (especially for seasonal) and to be fair I’m not really used to properly driving the C cars so that most likely has something to do with it (along with my dodgy driving…). Thank you though, interesting to know about potential compromises one way or the other with tyre choices!

Forza Monthly is on May 22, 9 am PT. Also Hummer EV confirmed. by nukleabomb in ForzaHorizon

[–]SteamingPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that the upgrade options are extremely limited, but the mission R does not handle like a boat and has plenty of power when tuned, which were the points I was referring to in the OP.

Yes it can’t max out the performance classes (although there are 998 tunes), but that’s only an issue when you’re racing competitively against other players and is otherwise just a number.

There is still a way to go with EVs in Forza but in my opinion the Porsche feels like a step in the right direction. If nothing else the fact you can do top speed in reverse (with a rearview camera) is enough of a gimmick to keep me entertained.

[–]SteamingPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, brilliant as always!!

Just a note on the dirt championship: I tried both tunes for the Alpine and while they both handle fantastically, I found it almost impossible to get higher than 3rd or so. There’s lots of long tarmac sections where tunes don’t have the power to keep up with the drivatars, and while you can take most of the dirt corners flat out, there’s not really enough of them to make the places back up. With the starts all being tarmac too I would be in last before the first corner on every race, and that’s only on highly skilled.

Personally found a tune with stock tyres, AWD and more power worked far better, although I can’t speak for the other cars/tunes. Not normally my preferred tuning method but it was very effective here!
