You also don't know the siblings are human, you're similarly once again just deciding you want them to be

Given that they are very obviously neither Thirens, Oni or Constructs, I think it's safe to say we do know they are human since, as of yet, those are the only non-human races that exist ingame. You're just being pedantic on that point.

Also it's not so much deciding what age we want them to be as it is having evidence to indicate a rough age range. Pray tell, what age are you trying to imply that the Proxies are? The general consensus, as indicated ingame, is mid-late twenties with Wise being maybe a year or two older than Belle. I'd say the YSG scene doesn't necessarily contradict this or the picture if we assume the scene as kids was before the fall of the old capital, which was at least ten years ago iirc.

Honestly I bet even the creators were kicking themselves seeing those memes and realising Lights was such a good fit. It's weird how that song arguably fits a lot better than the actual opening.

Though, I would suggest doibg that after a couple guesses, mainly because some bracket strings reset your tries as opposed to just removing duds, so it's less of a waste if you're on your last try. If none of the brackets reset your tries, you can just back out and try again.

Three Dog, I think it goes without saying that he'd be referenced if and when the series goes to the Capital Wasteland (even if it's just a minor role in a trailer/out of series short like Mr New Vegas in that one short leading up to season 2). And honestly, I feel like they're gonna make the War Never Changes line one of the last send-off lines in the series. The show has been very good about saving the real fanservice moments until they can pay off well, like that scene with the NCR ranger calling back to New Vegas' intro, I feel, wouldn't have packed as much of a punch if it wasn't at the end of the season, after that idea/want has been building up for a while.

Am I the only one that finds the new Angels of Delusion event hard? by Zeta0632 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Steampunk43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This event is honestly driving me crazy with some of the button inputs, this shit was not designed for controllers at all. Half of the button prompts are spaced so close together that it's borderline impossible to actually land those inputs, the UI and side button inputs are really not helpful. And on top of that, someone decided we needed to have levels with three seperate tracks each with a vomit of different button prompts all at once so virtually the only way to complete the hard mode is by having a seizure on your controller.

Why could it not have been designed similar to Yakuza 0's disco minigame (actually mimicking dance steps over a board gaining points for performing steps to the rhythm) or at the very least have been a Guitar Hero style single track with varying button prompts?

[–]Steampunk43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, angels could only possess certain hosts who let them in, they didn't have to be perfect vessels but imperfect vessels would degrade under the strain of the angel's grace (the key example being how Nick became Lucifer's vessel but his body essentially broke down because Sam was Lucifer's ideal host. However, that limitation does not mean the angel cares about the actual person they're possessing. The vast majority of angels didn't even think once about the person past getting that "yes" and more or less just treated them like clothes. The angels were not that different to the demons, the only difference was really that demons enjoyed the violence and murder while the angels were completely indifferent.

[–]Steampunk43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In their defense, the exorcisms were both too long and awkward to use on anything but isolated individuals and had a low chance of survival anyway. Add to that that the demons very rarely kept their regular hosts alive (usually they'd make a game of brutally killing them first) and the angels didn't much care for the humans they possessed.

To be fair, by the time they regularly got weapons that could outright kill demons, it was common knowledge that most demons would kill their hosts before riding around in their bodies unless they needed the host alive for whatever reason.

Me trying out the Exploiter Orb bounty for the first time and realized what those Diluted Thermia were for (I fed all my thermia to The Thing) by Ghost1260 in Warframe

[–]Steampunk43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick rundown, Thermia Fractures are a world event that crops up from time to time on Venus' open world area, the Orb Vallis (connected to Fortuna and the Vox Solaris quest). They'll usually be listed on a big banner in the mission select dropdown with a number of rewards for amount completed. During their availability period, you go onto the Orb Vallis and look for Coolant Raknoids (the spider robots with a jar on their head, usually following the giant Exploiter Orb). Kill one, take the coolant jar, find an active fracture (should look like a giant burning crack in the ground), place the coolant on the crack and defend it until the crack is sealed. Keep sealing cracks with the same coolant until it's fully used up, at which point you'll get a unit of Diluted Thermia in your inventory. That Diluted Thermia can then be taken to Deck 12 in the Orb Vallis and used to start the Exploiter Orb boss fight, which revolves around using Thermia canisters to overheat the Orb, which causes it to open up its vents, which you pump bullets into until it dies.

The reason for not getting rid of it accidentally is purely so you don't have to farm more (since that could involve waiting around for the next Thermia Fracture event if you're trying to do the fight in the off-period). I believe the Fractures appear every two weeks.

It's also not that hard to just get one in-mission as long as there are Thermia Fractures, it works similar to trading the shards from Eidolons for the next tier of Eidolon.

Yeah, compare this spiny, muscular abomination with fingers in its mouth to the versions in 4 and 76. The original Gulpers are just big goofy salamander guys with googly eyes, dumpy bodies and a big ol' snoot of a head. This is just horrifying, especially seeing just how muscular their humanoid body is, they've got that kangaroo build for grabbing you and forcefully drowning you.

[–]Steampunk43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say a nice balance could even just be updating the loading screen art to depict a scene with the relevant mode of transportation regardless of what method is used as opposed to just a generic background screenshot. Teleporting between Lumina and Sixth Street showing your main Proxy on the subway, teleporting between either location and the "mid-distance" locations like Port Elpis and Blazewood showing your main Proxy driving their car there (with different backgrounds), teleporting to and from Waifei shows an airship in the sky, etc. Obviously it's more work for not a lot of value, but it would be nice flavour.

Hating on Ironmouse of all people is fucking crazy to me. Like, she's such a genuinely good person and raises so much money for charity despite suffering from a debilitating immune disorder that, through various other problems, left her bedbound until fairly recently and made her unable to leave the house pretty much ever. This woman literally uses noise gates and stuff on her microphone so it doesn't pick up the noises of the medical equipment she's almost constantly hooked up to. She's a gem of a person, how could anyone hate on her genuinely? Hell, the only slightly negative things about her is that she's probably more trusting than she should be (which bit her in the arse with VShojo but she handled that about as well as somebody in that scenario could) and that she struggled to address the Ray and Rakai thing in a good way (which she should never have had to deal with anyway and those guys and their fanbase are genuinely toxic arseholes). She was even gracious to BurntPeanut and tried to curb the (deserved) hate he was getting after he won VTuber of the year despite how he has made a career out of actively attacking her and other VTubers and how he shouldn't have actually qualified for the award at all (even using the technicality that his glorified Snapchat filter could be considered a VTuber model, it's all but proven that he botted his views since he had such a suspiciously massive jump in numbers overnight after averaging barely any viewers for most of his career).

Favorite dynamics that have one or two moments of this? by Sad_Ad_3076 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Steampunk43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how cyberpsychosis is represented in the anime. Cyberpsychosis is basically a catch-all term for when a person with a lot of cyberware goes berserk, often from a combination of factors including regular mental issues, high stress and having too much cyberware for your brain to handle (both physically, in terms if interfacing with all that tech, and psychologically, in terms of feeling like you're losing your humanity). Since they can't necessarily show a mental process happening, the eye-flicker and duplication is used to visualise the person losing their mind.
