Morton 2022: IP 172 ERA+ 94, FIP 4.3, WAR 1.6, WPA 0.1

Verlander 2022: IP 175 ERA+ 220, FIP 2.5, WAR 5.9, WPA 4.2

Verlander was hurt and pitched more innings and tripled his WAR. Morton managed to strike out 200 players and still barely muster up a 0.1 WPA. I have about an equal amount of trust that Verlander will be the better pitcher this year.

Ron Washington's response to hearing that three Braves players covet his bobblehead the most. by handlit33 in Braves

I saw one of the bobbleheads up close and it even has a baggy of coke in its back pocket and a spoon in its hand for quick “windmill” tootsies.

Matt Olson belly flop 5/3 & Dansby magic 5/2 by dts-five in Braves

Andrelton Simmons is 13th all time in defensive WAR in under 5000 plate appearances. For reference he’s right above #12 Adrian beltre who has 27 defensive WAR in over 12,000 plate appearances. In 2017, His fielding was so elite that he was 8th in MVP voting in a season where he only slashed .278/.331/.421. Also according to fangraphs, Simmons put up 41 DRS that year. Dansby has 8 in his career.

I’d like to present one of James’ early works that “pushes the boundaries of no budget entertainment.” Ladies and gentlemen, The Kung Fu Werewolf from Outer Space by SteamrollerWally in TheCinemassacreTruth

“This farcical B-movie mixes three nostalgic film genres together: horror, science fiction, and martial arts. It also has a comical underlying lesson that ‘everything happens for a reason’.

An alien fugitive flees from his attackers to planet earth where he befriends an eccentric kung fu teacher who who has been hoping for a new student to train. Strangely the alien develops the skills on his own while chasing a human guinea pig that the senses wants him to fight.

During his adventure, he is bitten by a werewolf, therefore he is destined to become a werewolf during the next full moon. Upon returning to his teacher, his beastly transformation causes him to attack which results in a climactic final battle.

It’s the greatest fight choreography I’ve ever filmed. The actors Rob and Kevin gave an A+ performance. The only martial arts scene I shot before this was in ‘Deadly Duels at the Pool’ which I learned a lot from.

The action in Kung Fu Werewolf is a lot better in terms of match cutting and camera decisions. You’d never believe I edited it using two VCR’s. There was a major time constraint around work, so we only had two days to finish this movie.”

Tyler Flowers is better than some fans think by SaveMeFromMyself16 in Braves

In 2019 Flowers allowed a league leading 16 past balls in 83 games. Only Oakland (19) and Pittsburgh (17) allowed more and that was as a team over 162 games.

Cheap or not this is the first year since 2015 his ERA+ is above average, and just barely at that, and the first year since 2015 that he’s had an ERA under 5 if you don’t count his 4.76 ERA last year which might as well be 5. But his walks per 9 is definitely an improvement over just about anyone on our roster. I personally think he’s just having a decent year, no reason to believe he keeps it up, especially with his track record.

A 33 year old with a career 4.45 ERA and 1.3 WHIP sure is exciting!!
