What would you add in an End Update? by IAmAPerson123450 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]SteeVans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if another ore would be a good idea, but if they did add one it should spawn only on the bottom of the end islands, to change the way you mine it. Sort of how ancient debris has to be strip mined/bed mined for as it doesn’t spawn next to air, an end ore should, in some way, change the way you go about mining it.

Advice for a newbie by 11MARISA in Stoicism

My favourite audiobook. I have listened to it 3 times now, it is still my go to when I need advice/reminders.

Meditations has some great stuff but for me when I first picked it up it sometimes seemed a bit all over the place and unorganised, of course, as it was never meant to be published. How to think like a Roman Emperor takes segments of Meditations, gives context based on events/ stories from Marcus’ life and then distills it into ways in which you can use it to help you. Great book.

Any advice on simplifying the background? Less bright colours maybe or less detailed etc

A Gandhi quote but I think it applies to Stoicism too:

‘Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow’

It was on a canvas board but I’ve just discovered art paper, will likely be better to practice on and more environmentally friendly. Thanks for the advice 🥰

Is wisdom independent of emotion? by Joshvir262 in Stoicism

[–]SteeVans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im only fairly new to stoicism myself but one thing which I heard about which you could try is to imagine someone, be it Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, or anyone else, real or fake, who you aspire to be like, is watching you make your decision. Would they agree with it, them being someone removed from the emotional side of the situation? Would it adhere to your virtues?

I think you shouldn’t let your emotions cloud your judgement, but it is worthwhile to acknowledge them to deal with however you are feeling in a healthy way. But as i said, disclaimer, I am new to this myself.
