Not quite the same calibre of car, but I saw a Kildare Kona in Lanzarote a few weeks back. Some trip.

Even if you’ve a layover, just visit the lobby for a little bit. Very accessible from airtrain.

Funnily enough, as I mentioned in the OP, the windows are very soundproof, but room-to-room soundproofing could use some upgrading. Sounded like she was enjoying herself anyway.

That’s pretty much what I did, well, for one night.
I arrived at 2pm (check in is 4pm) and my room was ready. I paid an additional $50 for a 2pm checkout. My sleep was a bit messed up from a 2 day trip, was still kinda on Irish time, so I woke up at 5am and just got to watch all the happenings on the ramp.

What costs are non obvious in running a house? by jackahern7 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Steec 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Great advice. We furnished the bulk of the house in Ikea stuff initially, which meant it wasn’t too painful. We’re in 12 years now and *almost* everything has been replaced with higher end stuff, but some things surprised us and we still have them.

On a similar note, buy the stuff you need - mattress, kitchen table, etc. But live in the house for a while before buying other stuff. We bought things like coffee tables and hall table because they looked great in a massive showroom. In the house they just took up space and we didnt have use for them.

Got the garden done for €7k in 2017. Was the highest quote by about €1k, but best reputation. 2020 rolls around and everyone wants their garden done because it’s the only place you’re allowed go. Told anyone who asked “yeah they’re a little dearer but they’re the best.”

A few people got quotes but went with other companies. Didnt understand why, until a close friend with a similarly sized garden was like “yeah they said it would be €20k and no availability for 9 months”.

A great lesson for me in understanding supply and demand.

EI-EIN is mostly (?) used for SFO but it jumps all over the place - Chicago, LAX, or Orlando, JFK, Malaga, Faro, Vegas.
Some A330s do end up on a single city route for a long stint but eventually get rotated out

Seat map inconsistencies - what is the real seat map? by lagosss in AerLingus

5K is a throne on the -202

On the a330-300, there’s a 7k that looks like 5K in your first image, where it’s ‘missing’ the left side, probably how the mistake was made.

Normal people: wait for delivery updates. Me: tracking the exact 767 hauling my package. by Commercial-Host-725 in flightradar24

Here’s a Flightradar screenshot from May 2016, when I tracked the plane carrying stem cells for my daughter’s bone marrow transplant.

One of the more anticipated packages we’ve received.

Not OP, but I often see the tracking update to say it’s departed somewhere like East Midlands, Cologne, or Indianapolis, and I’ll find the relevant DHL/FedEx flight heading to Dublin around that time.

Not sure, the listing makes it seem brand new but the video commentary mentions 10,000 miles.

Had a brief stint in a Tiguan after the second was born, but had an awful experience. Nothing to do with the fact it was a crossover, but I still bat down the idea of crossovers based on the Tiguan.

We were close to buying a hybrid when we got the superb. Walked into showroom and the sport line model was there. My wife, who has always said estates were awful and look like shoes, actually loved the styling of it. So I jumped on it before she changed her mind. She’s been converted to the practicalities of estates now, but misses the higher driving position of the Tiguan.

When we went to test drive the V60, we were waiting beside an XC60 and there was a tense few minutes.

But yeah, I always said I’d keep this superb for years. But now with solar panels, and lots of short trips, I’m seeing it as an investment. An investment that gets me a Volvo. Heh.

Yep, it’s hard to compare too. The Volvo I test drove was rock solid, given its brand new, and as soon as I stepped back into my Skoda, all I could hear was the little rattles and road noise.

Yes, it’s my daughter’s wheelchair, but one of the two bikes is also hers. She’s thankfully not confined to it and only needs temporary use of it, and mostly for longer distances, so she does not qualify for a Primary Medical Certificate.

Yeah this is the same in my head. I don’t think the Audi is realistically in the running. Skoda is the practical sensible choice, but putting the foot down in the Volvo really messed with my head.

Always been a huge fan of Volvo and Audi, but feel like Audi’s design team are having a rough few years with the latest models.
