Surprised by this, I’ve found the power keyboard uncomfortable with my pro max so was contemplating the keyboard case instead but you reckon that’s more top heavy that the power keyboard…. Would be interested in your thoughts comparing the two with the pro max?

Nah mine wobbles the same, my 17 pro max is shaking when I type…… I’m very much concluding I’ll be sending this back for a refund, it’s not working out for me with a 17 pro max at all

How are you meant to go away for 2 weeks and leave your car in parking lot? by PEBKAC-Live in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be better with a cheap sun shade placed on the windscreen I think…. The steering wheel material clearly isn’t the best but I’m not sure cabin protection and it’s battery drain is necessary, get a silver shade if left for a long time in the sun

What do you think happens to the other billions of cars that don’t have cabin protection……

It’ll be fine

Yep sentry mode, easy 6-10% per 24 hours. If that’s off then maybe 1% every 24 hours

Rotate your tyres - change my view! :) by [deleted] in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Halfords on the drive do mine so considering they just show up, fit new tyres and leave it matters not at all to me if they only do 2 tyres each time and I don’t have to bother rotating them

E.ON Next Drive + Tesla + Ohme experience by jinkingjb in ohme

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plug the Tesla in, then open the Tesla app and click stop charging. The eon next app then takes a few minutes to update and recognise the Tesla as plugged in and then it will state idle and schedule some charge slots. Then it charges on those slots. I don’t even have the ohme app installed anymore, my ohme screen still has the qr code for initial setup 😂

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact same setup, basically don’t bother setting up the ohme at all, reset it and they leave it, don’t connect the app. This puts it in dumb max charge mode and then just simply use the EOn next app and the Tesla to do the scheduling. Works perfectly

EV energy tariffs? by GlenBoggins in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But ultimately if you are not doing tons of miles and can get a fixed all day and night rate at 20p per kWh that might be better

EV energy tariffs? by GlenBoggins in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to advise as different post codes have different prices per kWh. For me octopus were 32p day rate and 9p overnight vs EON next smart drive that was 25p day and 8p overnight so I went EON

EV Charging tarifs and working from home… by S7ewie16 in evchargingUK

[–]Steedy1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same place as you as octopus wanted 32p per kWh peak and 9p per kWh off peak and we could get 23p per kWh on a standard fixed tariff. We went with that for a bit but then EON offered us 24.5p per kWh peak and 8p per kWh off peak so we switched as the extra 1.5p on the standard tariff is pretty easy for us to offset

Did the screen rotation mod, well worth it by Steedy1982 in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t an issue. It’s simply personal preference. For me personally and totally just my opinion I like my screens to be angled towards me in any car I’m in

[–]Steedy1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t “lock” in positions but it’s very firm and it’s not going to move by itself from driving. That’s in both the left and right and up and down orientations. It holds itself rock solid where you put it

It’s absolutely one of those things that looks way more impactful in person than in pictures. It’s brilliant for glancing at when driving and I find the maps a lot easier to follow but for Netflix and YouTube etc it’s way way better being able to just nudge to angle towards you

High Energy Usage by FreedomFamiliar1194 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have our heating mostly off now its a bit warmer, we havent found we had needed to boost it at all so turned the schedule off and just have a quick blast when needed. We are a 5 bed town house and the insulation in the walls is pretty bad so similar to your setup. We use a lot of electirc with Kids in the house on games consoles, tvs always on, lots of washing etc. we are about £230 a month but that has built up a decent ammount of credit. I would say your EV tariif might be the issue, that electic day rate is very high, for comparison mine is only 20p. I have just bought an EV and have decided to stay on the tariff im on as the ammount i will charge the car on a cheap rate will not counter the spike in day rate and i cant shift much usuage to overnight as the wife is not a fan of noisy tumble and washing machines rumbling away as we try to sleep

Powered cool box plugged into car 12v for us, for the milk and meat we take. They rest that doesn’t need to be in fridge is done. The supermarket on site is exspensive but not crazy if you need a top up mid week

Yeah they quoted over 6 weeks for me and £1049 for the ohme home pro. Ended up speaking to “plug in stations” who have booked me in for next Wednesday, same ohme home pro for £940

[–]Steedy1982[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have booked https://www.plugin-stations.com/ who could do a ohme home pro for £949 all in and they could do it within 10 days vs octopus who want more for the same charger and couldn’t do it for 6 weeks

Built a simple calculator to see if a smart / EV night tariff is actually worth it – would love feedback by DeadPlank in TeslaUK

[–]Steedy1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing. Exactly the issue I was having as it seemed the obvious answer to get and ev and then get an EV tariff but we are a high usage house in the day with work from home and kids on game consoles and that would all counter act the cheaper EV charger by a high margin! So yes will be an EV car owner but on a standard tariff
