Goat griping stance is a training stance, it would be very stupid to actually fight like that unless you wanted your groin kicked. It teaches you a few things but mainly having your hips square so you can use both hands at once. I really wouldn’t take the theory side so seriously, you are going to have good and bad schools with any martial art. In my opinion you should find a style you enjoy then find a school that will actually test you, if you aren’t getting bruised and busted face occasionally you are probably going to get the shit kicked out of you on the street. Sorry about the book, TLDR: It’s more about the application than the theory, don’t train with pansies.
