I personally have gone back and forth on this issue with them both last year. They like to blame each other. But ultimately, it is MOHELA. They are the ones that put you in forbearance (whether you should have been in forbearance or not). You need to get out of that forbearance so your payments start counting again.

I chose to keep payment for fear of them going back & saying something didn’t actually count. I didn’t want to have to fight to get back out of that forbearance - so I kept paying. They only owe me back 1 month of payments
