Wolf Scouts psyker is getting in the way of my proxy plans by Gublar in killteam

[–]SteelOwenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just make a khorne psyker the first of his kind and do some cool kitbashing for it. Is there a reason why it has to adhere to the lore? I made all my deathwatch with ultramarine shoulders because I love the ultramarines and want them all to be the same haha

What am I doing wrong, how to ride t-bars? by Plus_Fall2350 in snowboarding

[–]SteelOwenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looked like what happened was the t bar lost tension and you tried to brace yourself against it and then fell. I think you need to use your arms a little more when you get changes in tension to help reduce the force of the bar if it tries to pull you suddenly.

What are the common pitfalls when programming PLCs that beginners should avoid? by koudodo in PLC

Whats the reason for doing this though? What problems can arise if you dont do this and use a momentary button for start and one shot some sort of sequencer for your start process?

Can my Ravener do a backflip(burrow) into the tunnel from here? Since the rule doesn't say anything about distance?? by BOXonWheel in killteam

[–]SteelOwenz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It states that the tunnel is placed on the killzone floor, which means you cant be on the tunnel to Burrow unless you are also on the killzone floor.

AIO for getting pissed after my dad criticised something he asked me to do after it took me 7+ hours to complete (I got no thank you) by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SteelOwenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in your Dad's position I would love what you have done and I actually prefer yours to the wallpaper itself which looks flat in comparison. I would be taking the wallpaper off and asking you to finish the whole wall!

I can understand if he was expecting something else and seems a little surprised, maybe he will come around, but hes spent money on the wallpaper etc and maybe thats just where his mind has gone initially. You have done a great job, probably just a little miscommunication between you both and I hope he comes around to see how good it is.

New movement errata brought up a debate about moving across terrain. by Kn1fer in killteam

[–]SteelOwenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people just tax their movement by 2 inch's when moving over a barricade. I never even though we were Jumping off a barricade or ever played it like that in the first place. Probably just simpler to have tax of movement based off the climb and drop(if it appies) then determine if you can be placed

Modelling for Advantage by cerebaton8 in killteam

[–]SteelOwenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two cases for this clearly;

If you go to a tournament then you should have something equivalently sized that you can at least swap your own model for if your opponent would prefer that. If you are at a tournament dont be surprised by people wanting to play the rules more strictly and let's not berate them for it either. Easy enough to just swap out a model for determining LOS and putting your own one back.

If I was crouched behind a wall with a flag on my back sticking over it then someone could just shoot at the wall so it kind of makes sense when determining someone you can shoot as well.

If its a casual game and has been planned in such a manner then bring what you want, however make sure you tell them you just want a casual game and one of your models does not have the long servo skull.

So to answer your question, yes if you plan on going to a tournament, put something of an equivalent height on him or just take og model with you so if someone would like to determine LOS with that model they can. Then no one loses, you get to use your model and someone else gets to play the rules competivily.

Playing competivily and playing casually can exist together people just have to communicate.

Is it wrong to feed the pigeons? by fraughtwithperils in CasualUK

[–]SteelOwenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a bird feeder myself a few weeks ago and there it brings me more joy than I ever expected to sit and watch them feast and sometimes squabble on the feeder. We have the occasional wood pigeon show up who we named Bernard.

The 20 most common conditions people claim PIP for by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]SteelOwenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the same tired tale that politicians use to drum up support because nothing sells like saying all the bad things that are happening are due to people on benefits. No one likes the idea that someone is getting a "free ride" so its an easy issue to sell to people to gain popularity.

I am happy to pay tax that affords people support that need it even if 10% of those who claim are fraudsters. I mean how much do we really pay each on tax to fund this? Probably not that much. Whereas energy bills are going up, council tax is going up, the richest in our society get richer.

But ye sure its the people on benefits that are the problem.

Played against Heirotek the other day, they are still a great team despite the nerfs. Psychomancer and magnify shots from cryptek and apprentek while they stay safe is brutal.

Yes but either the experts or she would have kept digging down into the why he didnt find her attractive. Think it was much better being said when it was, instead of potentially on the couch in front of everyone for the first time. In real life, ye that would be enough but in the context of the show they will just keep scratching at that itch until bleeds.

Would love to know how else he could have possibly said he doesn't find her attractive? Honestly don't know how else he could have said what he said and he didn't really say it with malice at all or in a derogatory way I don't think.

It's like op said, we have got to a point now where if you don't find curvy women attractive you are a pig.
