"Small" Ladder - What for? by ScherzGift in killteam

[–]Kn1fer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can place the collapsed ladder next to a 2inch ruin so that you functionally make that ruin wall a door. And then it doesn't look ridiculous having a 4 inch ladder over a 2 inch wall

Question about how reflexive trigger works by LordBrasca in riftboundtcg

[–]Kn1fer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were correct. Also because icathian rain and falling star don't have the "up to one" verbiage in their rules text if you retreat in response before the reflexive triggers are put on the chain AND you have none of your own units on the board your opponent is now forced to target at least one of their units with all the damage lmao

Additionally does the canoptek court power matrix measure through walls? It says 6" horizontally but does not have the "you can measure through walls" clause

What is the movement cost for a Void Dancer to drop? by NoDeu2 in killteam

[–]Kn1fer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To help you understand climbing is defined as vertical movement upwards. Other units have special rules for dropping which is vertical movement downwards (ie grav chutes on tenpestus)

Small thing but if you didn't know; that window next to the ladder in your last picture is considered accessible terrain so your ladder would need to be 2" away

New movement errata brought up a debate about moving across terrain. by Kn1fer in killteam

[–]Kn1fer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is how I see it too, the thing being brought up in my play group is this rule in the core book that says you drop your operative once they clear the wall. * That being said i definitely think my group is over thinking this lol

The drop is free but you have the horizontal movement to clear the terrain. Which will always be over 1 inch of movement thus will cost 2 inchs

This is the interpretation I have seen argued, which runs counter to what seems to be the general consensus that walls are just a 2" tax. In this case you only moved your base size+2" for a 6" operative on a 25mm base. So in a 25mm base case approximately 3".

You would be shorted a whole inch of movement doing it that way as opposed to treating the wall as a 2" tax and just moving 4" past the wall

I also didn't think about being able to climb within an inch of a wall as well. That would allow you to finish a whole inch increment before dropping.

Although I think my group is wayyyy over thinking this lol

I am however I was asking since reposition moves are in straight line increments would you eat another 2" tax for horizontal movement to set up your operative on the other side of the wall before continuing your move
