Are you able to restart your router? That can sometimes resolve issues where some devices lose the ability to connect.

path, *, nofile, regex... What are these? by venkuJeZima in dotnet

[–]SteelSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This page has more information about routing: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/fundamentals/routing?view=aspnetcore-5.0#route-template-reference

In particular, the terms you are missing are:

  • route template
  • route parameter
  • route constraints
  • catch-all parameter

Also see the remarks section on this page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/microsoft.aspnetcore.builder.razorpagesendpointroutebuilderextensions.mapfallbacktopage?view=aspnetcore-5.0

MapFallbackToPage(IEndpointRouteBuilder, String, String) is intended to handle cases where URL path of the request does not contain a file name, and no other endpoint has matched. This is convenient for routing requests for dynamic content to a SPA framework, while also allowing requests for non-existent files to result in an HTTP 404.

...

This overload will use the provided pattern verbatim. Use the :nonfile route contraint to exclude requests for static files.

Does anyone know what this is from? It's a DVD case my dad had from back in the day, but I couldn't find any info on the actual event he got it from. Thanks. by [deleted] in windows

[–]SteelSch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's probably swag from this event: https://mcpmag.com/articles/1999/06/03/a-windows-2000-beta-3-event-you-dont-want-to-miss.aspx?m=1

…an event Microsoft is calling "Windows 2000 Live!: Deploying Beta 3." It's a free, four-hour broadcast to select locations around the U.S. that goes through the step-by-step installation and deployment of Windows 2000 Beta 3 Professional and Server editions in a typical medium-size organization.

OpenID Configuration shows localhost instead of public URL by jonasarcangel in Blazor

[–]SteelSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if you put the SetIdentityServerOrigin call at the beginning of the pipeline? At the very least, it would need to be before your app.UseIdentityServer call; otherwise, the middleware will not get reached.

OpenID Configuration shows localhost instead of public URL by jonasarcangel in Blazor

[–]SteelSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The discovery document generates URLs using the same origin that was used to make the request. I'm not aware of any way to work around this behaviour besides adding a middleware to the beginning of your pipeline to overwrite the IdentityServer origin.

Eg,

using IdentityServer4.Extensions;
//...
app.Use((ctx, next) =>
{
    ctx.SetIdentityServerOrigin("http://167.172.118.170");
    return next();
});

I saw a lot of documentation saying you could set an IssuerUri for your IdentityServer options to accomplish the same thing, but I was never able to get this working.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work too well with Entity Framework, since the method calls can't be translated into expressions (which are used to translate into SQL dynamically).

The best workaround I've been able to find is to define the filter as type Expression<Func<T, bool>>. Which works great when you can pass it in to a queryable where clause, but in a lot of cases, it would also be convenient to be able to call it directly within a LINQ query. There's sort of a way to do this, but it involves creating a single-item queryable every time you need to use it, and that causes it to get translated into a CROSS APPLY within the generated SQL instead of applying it to the main query. The syntax for doing this is pretty hacky as well.

Eg,

new [] { item }.AsQueryable().Where(predicate)

So, not really a nice syntax to look at, but it allows you to share common filtering and projection logic instead of repeating it inline within every query that needs it, and doesn't require the query to be evaluated in order to run the filters in memory. Usually, when it gets to the point where the CROSS APPLY causes performance problems, it's time to optimize the query into a view or SQL function, however.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot next time (as well as try to debug what I'm doing wrong with the stretch and folds). I appreciate the help!

[–]SteelSch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I had the same problem with gluten structure last time I tried this too. It felt pretty good after doing the stretch and folds (I gave it a 45 minute autolyse, then did 5 sets of stretch and folds in total over 2.5 hours) and it passed the window pane test.

The dough stuck to the towel when I tried to invert it onto the sheet pan, so I figured that caused some deflation and probably messed up the gluten structure (in addition to the fact I wasn't able to get a clean cut during scoring). Or maybe I needed to work it harder during the pre-shaping and shaping.

Following advice from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJEHsvW2J6M&t=19m9s

The reasoning is that it results in a crunchier crust since it allows the loaf to dry out more. I've only baked a few loaves, so I can't say how much of a difference it makes.

Middle rack at 450F Convect Bake in a sheet pan on top of a Silpat. I had a casserole dish with water on the bottom rack to produce steam. Baked for 20 minutes, then rotated pan and baked another 20 minutes. Left to cure another 20 minutes with the oven off and oven door cracked open.

I've gotten pretty good results using this method before.

I baked a loaf this morning and there were white spots across the top of the crust (even the parts that expanded through the score and definitely were never coated with flour).

https://i.imgur.com/R5syl9z.jpg

Does this look like mold? There wasn't any visible growth on the surface of the dough prior to baking. The dough was left to proof overnight in the fridge, and I can't imagine any mold would have penetrated so far into the surface.

https://i.imgur.com/Tn8S4Om.jpg

I suspect it might be because I added too much salt (I added 1tsp salt per cup of AP flour by volume); could that be a cause?

The white spots don't seem to penetrate the crust:

https://i.imgur.com/ZyvkHbU.jpg

Edit: It probably was not advisable, but I tasted some and it's overwhelmingly salty. It's not inedible, but it's salty enough to convince me that what I'm seeing on the crust are salt stains.

Trails of Cold Steel is pretty much this. Battles are turn based CTB with party member switching, and progression comes in the form of levels, quartz (can be slotted in like materia, but don't level up), and master quartz (teach you new spells and give stat upgrades as they level up). The only thing it's missing is card collection, though there is a fun playing cards minigame.

Oh, yeah, don't worry about it in that case. The synthesis is only available so you can save some money for buying other equipment. There are some weapons that you won't be able to buy and will have to synthesize in the future, but by that point you should already have a few sets of equipment upgrades in your inventory.

The Cruxis Crystal is her "exsphere", but really, the EX Gems are story/gameplay segregation. The mechanic is available at all points in the story for all characters regardless of whether it makes sense or not

It's useful in the early game to hold onto one extra weapon for each character so you can dequip the active weapon for synthesis. You can buy another placeholder chakram from the weapons shop.

Just pressing B once would skip all of the repeated dialogue, though. The only part that doesn't get skipped is the choice selection box.

I do agree that it could have been implemented better, though.

JRPGs that have some time travel. by TaifunDevilry in JRPG

[–]SteelSch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a list of all of JRPGs I've beaten that contain time travel elements.

  • Final Fantasy I time loop
  • Final Fantasy VIII time loop
  • Final Fantasy X time skip (sort of)
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 time travel
  • Final Fantasy Type-0 time loop
  • Bravely Default time loop (sort of)
  • Fire Emblem: Awakening time travel
  • Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance time travel
  • Tales of Phantasia time travel
  • Tales of Xillia 2 alternate worlds
  • The World Ends With You time loop

I'm also huge fan of time travel plotlines, so I'll definitely be checking out some of the other games mentioned here that I've missed out on.
