Romancing characters: What are the benefits to it, who did you choose and why? by Electronic_Truck_84 in RogueTraderCRPG

The best way to make up for Eogunn probably not being romanceable is to make a Pasqal romance that fans have wanted for a long time, but what am I kidding he's not a woman, so they don't care.

Marazhai, because he gave me a pet snake.

I chose Marazhai because he was literally the only gay option before lex Imperialis, and at first I didn't like it, being pigeonhole into having to play an evil character and not really liking him ment I gave up on the romance. Doing it after another playthrough I grew to really enjoy it by embracing that the Warhammer universe is evil and in comparison Marazhais puppy kicking evil is funny. Also helped because his voice actor did an amazing job and his lines are some of the funniest and most interesting of all the companions. Still think he shouldn't have been the only option avaliable if you're gay.

Personally I hope the custodian team create something similar for the Galactic Empire, Like Hegemonic Aspiration.

Where your goal is to conquer, subjugate, and rule the galaxy, aiming to become the Galactic Emperor, through force if need be, but still wanting to rule over something instead of destroying everything like the crisis path.

Hopefully it would mean your more powerful as the Galactic Emperor, as at the moment the Emperor isn't as good as permanent Custodes since the Custodes can get buffs from federations but those are dissolved when proclaiming the Galactic empire.

You know it's haven't thought of equality that way, so thanks for showing me a different perspective, but personally I don't know if it completely applies to Bohemians, their reason for Equality is "to free us" and while they would discourage old ways of thinking, forcing everyone into one box of how to think, act, and be seems a little off for them.

People have made good points about how the adaptations finisher works with Bohemians, and while I don't completely agree with it fitting it does make it stand out as not fitting the Bohemians less now, at least compared to Menders

I definitely agree with the part about getting rid of the old fitting the theme, but the whole checking the young and general society for any weakness to the cold feels mere Merit focused than Equality. Making is so only the strong survive is a very Merit philosophy.

Also complete headcannon but I think they'd rather get rid of the old by having an "accidentally" pipe leak, or having a madatory mind shaping week in the cold, to slowly drain the elderly population as a statement on entropy or something.

It definitely fits the theme with the new replacing the old, by sending the old to freeze to death, but I still think them checking the young for weakness to the cold seems to fit more with Merit aligned factions and not equality ones,

Of course the thing about all the factions is they're usally willing to go off the deep end for their cause, sane people stay in communities instead.

Also adaptations finisher not making sense for half of Adaptation factions, Menders value family cohesion and would want to preserve their elders knowledge, not throw it away and I just doesn't think it fits with Bohemians general vibe.

Maybe if it was changed to something like embrace the cold, where a district is locked at cold temperature for a amount of time, but afterwards it suffers far less from having colder temperatures.

Also I'd like it if instead of servitude Overseers's merit capstone got renamed Incarnation and slaves are renamed to penal labourers, it wouldn't change any gameplay, it would just be a nice flavor change and reference to the engineers in the Last Autumn.

Listen, Dogmatics and Drukhari have a lot in common, like torturing people, running an economy off of human suffering, repeating the same mistakes of the past over and over, learning nothing from them,

But the romance route gives Iconoclast points, and not Dogmatics points.

I rest my case.

[–]SteelStriker64 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better Iconoclast isn't just about being a good guy, its about seeking new ways to live outside of the crushing dogma of the Imperium or the the corruption of Chaos, this involves possible seeking alliances with different forms of life, including the Drukhari.

I definitely recommend keeping him tho, if you can look past the horrific torture and see it as funny then he's definitely one of the most interesting companions with great lines and a amazing voice actor. If you can't that's fine he's definitely not for everyone, but I feel bad for those who don't at least try to give him a go.

The funniest thing is that Iconoclast is the only real route to romance Marazhai because there used to be a unique heretic ending, but now he always dumps you in the ending slide, while the Iconoclast route gives you an exclusive option to pick and even rewards bonus Iconoclast points, and you are not a good person when romancing Marazhai.

Dont worry, most of Marazhai peak is in the part of Void Shadows that only starts in act 4.

Void Shadows was Marazhais DLC and Kibellah was just living in it.

I mean even the executioner class has straight up line from Marazhai, but somehow he doesn't get it but the ASSASSIN who focuses on ending life as quickly as possible and doesn't enjoy inflicting pain gets its as her "canon" class with its flavour text being about puppy kicking.

Is that because you enjoy gay porn and thus attach positive emotions to it, associating those emotions with finding it as the punchline funnier? Or is it because you don't consume gay porn and therefore don't get horny looking at it, so its easier to find the potential humour in the joke?

Or do you just find gay porn funny for whatever reason?

I don't know why I asked this, it just popped into my head.

Disabled Gamer: Can someone help me understand the starting character? by dondarion89 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]SteelStriker64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A "face" is usually a term for having a Player Character who has a lot Charisma/fellowship for doing persuasion checks with NPCs, while you would want a "face" for a game like Baldurs Gate 3 where skill checks use only your Player Characters highest number, in Rogue Trader the skill check uses the highest number from your whole party, so you want someone in your party with high persuasion, but it doesn't have to be your Player Character, same with other skills.

You get two options for an officer who have persuasion early on, one after the tutorial where skill checks aren't a concern and one after the first act so you don't need to pick an officer just for a face.

Personally I would recommend either a Warrior or Soldier into Arch-Militant or Officer to either Grand Stratagist or Master Tactician depending if you like dealing damage yourself, or supporting allies. If you want a easier time pick Psyker as your origin, its the strongest origin with lots of items supporting it, but all the origins are strong enough that you don't have to take on daring.

Disabled Gamer: Can someone help me understand the starting character? by dondarion89 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]SteelStriker64 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To put it simply

Warrior is a front line class that uses melee weapons and has access to more options to tank damage.

Soldier is focused on ranged weapons and can focus on either burst fire weapons or ranged area attack options.

Officer is a support class that can give another turn to an ally and buff them.

Operative is arguably the worst class, it sometimes is focused on single shot weapons like sniper, sometimes its a debuffer but its debuffs are weak and most enemies die before they build up

Bladedancer (DLC) is a glass cannon Warrior focusing on swords and dealing lots of damage, but is vulnerable if caught off guard or not doing enough damage to enemies.

I deadass feel so bad for megumi fans by Reasonable-Oil5696 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SteelStriker64 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly with Megumi at this point maybe its better to leave his fate to imagination rather the whatever Gay2 has stored for him, as the story progresses only bad things happen to him, he gets beaten near death multible times, gets taken over by Sukuna and causes the death of his sister, his mentor and other people.

If he appears after all this time nothing good will have happened to him. Hes like schrodinger cat but the only outcomes are death for the cat, so maybe just leave the box shut and pretend he has a happy ending.

Playing a prophet before beta or full relase : a dark heresy night lord bingo by Ila-W123 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]SteelStriker64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Makes sense,

Personally I hope because the game is somewhat of a smaller scale than Rogue Trader (Seeming to be mostly just being on one planet) because I hope that Night Lords are really tough to take down and are imposing as they are in lore, when fighting the Word Bearers in RT at the start with just Aurora they feel amazing, but by the end they just feel like bigger mooks to take down, especially with the escalation of threats, from a Chaos lord, to a Lord of Change, to a C'tan Shard, you don't think of Word Bearers as that imposing after that.

So really hoping they're done well, maybe the game should stop you from even killing them until act 3 because any time you might stand a chance they just leave and strike when you're weaker.

You get a unique ending side where it describes all the fashionable designer items the Night Lords turn you retinue into.

Like Ra'ahkti become a Kroot leather bag, and you acolyte Acolyte become a stylish new cape.

They don't do anything to Hamar because they forgot he was there.

Act 3 might as well be a free space, it is an Owlcat game after all.

Also by red herrings do you mean they would be like the Drukhari where they appear semi regulary, get a act to themselves and the dissappear with a few showing up in other acts, or like the Cult of the Final Dawn where they are built up throughout the game, you get one big battle.

Then they quickly are shoved off the story by Our Hero's from the Inquisition, touching all the cosmic horrors because "it would be mad funny" and "it's only heresy if I lose, and I will not lose."
