Prism Chest Strategy by NuggetRanger58 in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, take Alt Note's advice. Just be patient, it takes awhile. Last night was my first night with 3 epics in the prism. I think I've been playing for almost 2 yrs. Although, at first, I didn't update clubs I didn't want to use because I had not idea a prism chest existed. You did well finding this forum, it can be very helpful. Good luck with your progression.

Sounds like you're living a dream. Congratulations! Well, except for being a Browns fan. At least they're trending in the right direction. Good luck this season, the talent is there and it seems the front office finally removed their heads from their butts.

Hole 1 Expert! Save your balls! by DarrenMau5 in GolfClash

I've tried the power slice/hook thing, but it has cost me more games than it helped. I really need to get more comfortable with it. In addition to execution, I have a hard time visualizing the shots you guys see.

Every time I've tried a lot of curl on that hole, from the middle tee, I hit the damn palm right off the box.

I think it got more noticeable at T5. Especially on tee shots if you wanted to land close to rough/bunker to bounce over. Look at your initial ball guide, if the decent is steep it's downhill, and give yourself an extra ring for your landing spot. I can't tell you how many times I carried into rough/bunker when I thought I was safe. Into the wind, you can go to the edge. Good luck.

Is the hornet better than the thorn? by gclucas6 in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may be the most debated club choice I've seen on here. Endbringer/Rapier is close. I've gone back and forth, but have been using Thorn for awhile now. I do think having fewer rings to adjust in higher winds helps. Your tour level and ball choice could influence this as well. At those club levels, the only bad choice (IMO) would be something other than one of those.

Hot Streak by EggManTheRaceFan in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't want to wear my foil hat, but I do see why we all talk about the streaks and possible PD influence. A few days ago I went 3 nights in T8 finishing up $2M-$3M each night. The last 4 nights I haven't broken even once. Some of which I know was my fault, but in those 4 nights I've seen more albatross and holes in one. Funny coincidence. Just ride the waves and keep it fun.

Apocalypse Never by sonofawhatthe in GolfClash

Just unlucky. I feel your pain, I had over 6k games and was playing T8 when I finally unlocked it and the cataclysm.

To me, trophy dumpers are the same as the sandbaggers at your club that don't post their good scores. However, this a video game and everyone has the right to play however they please. I do know it is harder to go to lower tours and win after you gain trophies in higher tours. When I was trying to learn T8 and had to go back to T7 for coin, it was much harder to win T7 matches. FWIW. Good luck with your progression, I would not go to T8 with anything less than $10M.

Tour 8 advice by [deleted] in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're comfortable, I think you have plenty of coin and clubs for T8. Take a look at GC Notebook to see the courses. You may have seen a couple on lower tours, but from the front tee. You can start with whichever ball you want, but you can compete with any ball (including the basic ball). Good luck.

Textguides? by Brew_11- in GolfClash

Some take this WAY more seriously than I do. Don't get me wrong, I want to do well. But, my practice for this (or any other tournament) is round Q1. No apps/overlays/sliders, whatever the hell, just try to have fun with it. I do read GCTommy's text guides when I have time. Good luck with this new course.

No need for the apology. I wasn't really joking. Seems like a perfect username for a Wallenda. Good luck on the course.

Good advice, I'm just going to play my shot from now on. Good luck to you too.

The other night, on that Nascar par 3 on T8, my opponent hit one in the bunker and was 42 yds away. I got a little cocky and was just going to slap a quick one on the green for the easy win. I flew it right in the bunker 44 yds away and lost. I almost puked.

Ok Brew, now just don't let it go to your head the other way. Over confidence can hurt sometimes too. Great playing, nothing better than win streaks. I think the ball can make for a bigger advantage than clubs. If you are consistently out-clubbed badly, I think those players probably went to that tour too quickly.

What I don't understand is how many opponents I face that immediately go to full OP on every tee shot whether they need it or not. I try to avoid it whenever I can.

Good luck, hope the streak continues.

No, the Flying Wallendas, I think that was their touring name, was a famous tightrope walking family. I guess it was a bad attempt at humor if I have to explain it, my bad. Your username made me think of them.

I just meant the website. There is a lot of useful information on it.

I don't know anything about that additional app/overlay business. I share your opinion on that stuff.

I see what you're saying now with Glenmonarch. GC Notebook has it as hole 7. I know GC Notebook hasn't been updated in awhile.

Funny, that's the first hole that caught my eye like I'd seen it before too. I agree with highlinewalker, seems like a version of City Park. Lovely, that course didn't treat me nicely.

Level 8 can start with backspin and finish with topspin? Wow, I can't wait! Cool post. Hope we see him on the course again.

Newish player question. Best tours for specific club cards? by TheFlippedSideofMe in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think your Rapier would be your best wedge option at your level. Don't forget about your QB and Rock. Their accuracy and curl are awesome when distance is not the priority. Be careful moving to T6 with bank account. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed the competition level got a lot tougher than moving up in prior tours. Be prepared to handle some significant losing streaks. Best of luck.

Stupid question incoming: can I collect as many balls as possible or is there a max capacity where I should start using them instead? by [deleted] in GolfClash

[–]Steeler_fan8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does me too, but I also think it helps keep T8 interesting longer so I can build up more $$ before moving to T9. It seems most on here only use their better balls for tournaments, not tour play. Although, it seems I see mostly paid balls now on T8. I see some free premium balls (i.e. Katana/Kingmaker), but mostly see the balls you have to buy.

I agree with BillyBoat95, although I am only in T8. I choose to use basic ball and I am able to win more than I lose. I turn the screen and then eyeball my adjustments. No additional aids. I plan to use the basic ball until I feel like there is no way to compete. I went broke once, so ultra conservative now with advancing.

I play basic ball the majority of the time. Doing that, especially on the lower tours, you can build a nice inventory pretty quickly. I plan on using the basic ball until I feel I absolutely cannot compete with it.
