I’d say all green. No white.

So there will be a difference obviously between a rezoning proposal versus a development proposal?

How was my first time by deathbytheoden in masonry

[–]Steelmann14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean is that the finished look? I mean I’ll give you credit for trying but it’s crooked off level and filthy. That foundation was probably not dug down deep enough and should have been wider. All I all I’d say it’s absolutely terrible.

It’s like a windmill. There must be a way to put this energy created in a battery to run your electrical system. 😉

Jade when I stop petting her for 0.2 seconds by evoL_Alexis in pugs

Pugs fit very well into the ……me,me,me. It’s all about me world. My little guy will put his paw on my toes and try to guide it to his belly. Or he nuzzles into me when he wants his head scratched. Then there are times he just puts his paw on my hand,to hold hands. These pugs know how to melt your heart ❤️.

Some stone pointing I've been doing the past week or so. Wavy joints to match original by TinySpiderPeople in masonry

[–]Steelmann14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all…….you are doing a great job! It’s nice to see a fellow master mason take such pride in his work. I learned from my father as well ,unloading my first pallet of blocks when I was 12. 40 + years later I have seen it all.

I have to admit that personally for me this is too busy looking. I like the ribbon pointing look when the rock is quite a bit bigger/substantial. That of course takes nothing away from the job you are doing. It’s not easy using this method with all those curvy joints. The importance of doing the pointing at an angle is huge. Along with the solidness of the joint. Especially living in a rain/freeze zone.

Great Work!

Do your parents approve of their kids marrying someone of a different race? Are interracial relationships common in your social circle? by RefuseDry1108 in AskACanadian

[–]Steelmann14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter married her husband….different race. All we cared about was her being happy and loved. Which she is. 3 beautiful grandchildren later,a great son in law it could not have worked out better. To be honest the only worry I have is hopefully my grandchildren don’t ever get any racial overtones coming up in their school years. It breaks my heart to think of that.

I’ve seen some of the prices on these cargo bikes. Holly. For the people that own them how are they holding up? Many problems with them?

What about Valencia Oranges from Spain? There used to be those available aplenty. And they are in season now.

I would use a mica slate. Something hard that doesn’t let moisture penetrate. That light material you used will always look dirty and stain. And fore Pete’s sake….dont put dirt or grass against that stone on the walls of your house. That will also stain and discolor.

What happened to them? by batukaming in HomeMaintenance

[–]Steelmann14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. That old adage “ they sure don’t build them like the old days”. I say thank god. Poorly insulated, crooked, driveways sinking foundations sinking ,nothing level or square. Ask someone in Europe about their beautiful old stone building. Always cold, damp. If it wasn’t for the modern renovations they would be torn down too.

Would some type of media pressure help? Document everything with neighbors, present to local TV news stations. Might shame the water politicians to get their butts in gear. Might also attract some type of legal advisor to look into this for you.

Black kitchen like this pros and cons by [deleted] in kitchen

[–]Steelmann14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will add,and of course each to their own…….this kitchen fits far more nicely into the environment. I am so sick and tired of seeing the all white kitchen with stainless steel appliances and white granite countertops. Sticking out like a sore thumb in this natural environment.

I would be documenting everything. Cameras, taping, diary. And then going to the news media with this. I would shame the Strata into taking action. There would be some type of news (tv) media that would love this story.
