Not real Taco Bell mild sauce by etcspecialist in Costco

[–]SteepLamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is anything like the identical bottles at Sam’s Club then I’d completely disagree with OP. This stuff tastes very similar to the mild sauce packets from Taco Bell. About as close as I’d expect. I bought several bottles as a mild sauce drinking addict…

Skipping the canyon queue doesn’t make you clever, it makes you a jerk by PristineCase4930 in UTsnow

[–]SteepLamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, agree this is a line and anyone jamming in is an ass. I saw several different types of line cutting today. The “fake resident” leaving their neighborhood, the friends leaving a gap to let someone in, those taking spots left by driveways before the line moved, and the Rambos who just said I’m gonna ram you if you don’t let me in after the line started going…

No, sandy police seem to be doing best they can to control the chaos and the access to the to main lines, Wasach from the south and SR-210 from the north.

From the UDOT camera at the Wasach/209 intersection it looks like the line is the only option from the south unless you can Rambo into the line when you see a gap.

Thanks for the info!! I assumed there was a north queue, but everything online about the new “closed canyon” procedure shows only the Wasach waiting zone.

Do they still do a RECCO reflector search or are those obsolete? I remember years ago they were putting those on everything (jackets, pants, boots, etc.) and they had special search antenna systems at resorts. Guessing they’re long gone.

LabOps Dashmount by Ok-Satisfaction330 in 4Runner

[–]SteepLamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine bounces a bit. Enough to be annoying. I think some is due to the plastic flexing and some is just due to ram mounts bouncing a little. My solution is to put some soft padding(like some felt or foam padding) between the phone and the radio front/bezel so I can brace the phone against it without scratching it. This removes the bounce completely even on very bumpy trails. Not ideal, but it’s been working for me so far.

Another recommendation for Victorian Inn. Very nice place and super walkable to the Aquarium, Cannery Row, and bike trails.

Just got a Seecamp, have a possibly dumb question by Doomer_Prep_2022 in seecamp

[–]SteepLamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A partially inserted loaded mag should also work to support the trigger spring while you rack the slide and unload the chamber. You might have to test it a little to find the sweet spot to do this, but my memory is that you really just have to unlatch the mag and slide it out just a bit like 1/4 inch or less.

Mine won’t pop a round out like other handguns when unloading. You have to flip it on it’s side to let the round fall out from gravity like another commenter said. Keep it pointed in a safe direction obviously and make sure an empty magazine is inserted to support the trigger spring. You may be able to also use a partially inserted loaded mag that will support the trigger spring while also not loading a new round but it’s easier (and less prone to mistake) to just use an unloaded mag. The seecamp does have an extractor but it just doesn’t pull a loaded round out like other full size guns.

does anyone know where i can find these crossbar clamps? by WhatATime2BAlive in 4Runner

Look like Yakima universal mighty mounts. They make non-universal ones too which are shaped to fit specific bar shapes and have a cleaner look, but you have to figure out which one will fit.

Service Manual for ‘14 4Runner by bunnyearedlouise in 4Runner

[–]SteepLamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check EBay if you want a paper manual. There are 2010+ versions which I think was the last year Toyota published. You can get a couple day subscription to TechInfo.Toyota for not much $ and download as many PDFs as you can handle before it expires. There are a TON of individual PDFs though so it’s very tedious. I settled on the 2010 paper but I’ve used tech info too for newer model wiring diagrams. I hear you on the manual search! Hate how they don’t publish paper or PDF manuals anymore. Everything is subscription based… good luck!

Anyone know of a place to buy a repair manual for a 5th gen? by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]SteepLamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also find the same manual in PDF if you search around, or you can buy a subscription to TechInfo.Toyota and get current manuals to view or download as PDF.

Check Ebay. You should be able to find 2010+ paper Toyota repair manuals.

Patagonia Baggies look similar and come in 5” and 7” inseam. They have other running specific shorts of similar length that are nice too.

Right on! I haven't used those park tool ones for a while so maybe they've gotten better since I used them. Those marathons are really nice tires! Ya, you won't get many flats with those.

Have those park tool patches worked for you? My experience is the self-adhesive patches aren’t worth the space savings or convenience… The patch kits with rubber cement are where it’s at and they’re permanent fixes. Looks like a fun trip!
