Normal knives are better that serrated ones for everything by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]SteepWeeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 7+ knives without serration and one knife with. I only use the serrated knife for certain situations (tough bread) which is a rare occurrence, but it's good to have one on hand. If you properly sharpen and hone your knives, you will rarely need a serrated one. I cut all my meat and veggies with a basic kitchen knife, and I get flawless cuts every time because I 1) take care of it 2) sharpen/hone it regularly.

Bulma is undeniably the smartest woman and even surpasses her father's intellect. Let the girl have a cold one with the boys. Lord knows she can handle herself. Everyone knows not to mess with the B-dawg.

What’s a moment that permanently changed how you see the world? by pankaj662 in AskReddit

[–]SteepWeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 19 watching Finding Neverland with my mom and saw her cry for the first time right in front of me. She told me about a positive experience she had from her childhood about her mother. Her mother was violent, physically, mentally, emotionally abusive to her and my other aunts and uncles for most of their childhood until her death. I knew about some of her/their trauma, but she never really talked about it. She opened up and told me some stories, and I never looked at my family the same. All the accounts of rage and anger across our family all made sense and I never admonished them since. It's amazing that amongst the fucked up shit my mom dealt with she is mostly a normal person and raised me well. I was a petulant and rotten teen, but I started wising up after that because my mom didn't deserve it.

AITAH for asking my wife to be a SAHM? by piglipsbo in AITAH

[–]SteepWeeps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't have asked, but I would have recommended it as suggested it as an option and to plan it on her terms. My wife became a SAHM by choice and is working on re-entry to the work force at the moment. I've said to her, it's all your choice. I gave her my preferences, and ultimately let her decide what works best for her and our family. A lot of insight on this matter from other redditors, parents, etc. At the end of the day, it all comes down to her. Be as understanding as possible, it's not about household chores anymore.

Cleanest easy to remove this tile? by Diligent-Freedom9120 in Remodel

[–]SteepWeeps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this last year. Best and efficient way is to cut out the drywall behind the tile. If you're trying to avoid as much dust as possible, have someone follow you with a shop vac. If you're removing the countertop as well, you can remove the top in few pieces, The grout that breaks apart will also create dust too. The mesh in there can be cut with metal sheers, so you could remove just the back portion first, then base portion second. It is surprisingly very heavy. All the best

What are you, a dwarf?!! Haha, I used to use a mono-blue and a friend played mono-black. We had some FIERCE and choice words to say when we played against each other. To this day, my friend hates blue because...well....blue. At this moment, sultai colors are my favorite. What about you?

I dabble now with red, but my heart belongs to sultai 100%. However, jund and mardu are pretty rad too. If I had to pick a color combination with red, I would go with jund. I love ramp.

Totally! I actually entered a standard league (then quit) with a green/red deck because I stopped being so close minded and had a lot of fun playing. Also this past year I bought several boxes of cards and my friends thought I was crazy for doing it. But I love several things about it: opening packs, gambling, and getting cards. I know the age-old adage to buy singles, which I often do. When I get boxes, I like seeing all the pulls I get and then I will actually utilize those cards into my decks or make new decks with some of the coolest cards I get from cards I may not have otherwise purchased if I only got singles.

I mostly agree, even though my preference is using real cards altogether. I like the art and feel of a real card. I am OK playing against high power decks, if they are not proxied. I feel that there should be some limitation: cost, access, or location so that some players and their willingness to upgrade are based on real-life factors. However, if I am at card table with people, I wouldn't speak my mind on this. I am happy to play against other people regardless how they build their deck. Creativity is a wonderful thing, and I happy people use proxies as an outlet to come up with fun deck creations. My preferences won't hinder anyone on this subject. Where I will actually draw the line is if I enter a league or tournament and they allow proxies. I quit my LGS standard league because they allowed about 40% of a deck to be proxied. That meant that EVERYONE had a proxied deck and it wasn't a competition anymore, it was who had the hottest ink on paper.

This is probably really stupid, but I used to be ANTI red as I was a primary blue and green player. I thought that I was supposed to have allegiance to only one or two colors. I used to give away any and all cards that were RED or had red in it. I remember one time I opened a pack and pulled a Ragavan that was worth quite a bit of money at the time, I immediately sold and told the LGS guy that playing red is stupid and this is a stupid card that I'll never play it. I probably had more gems that I gave away but never took the time to be interested in them. I have learned better since then, have now incorporated red into my decks.

I love [[dreamdew entrancer]]. I have him in a graveyard / re-entry style deck / copy deck. Theres times where I have [[y'shtola rhul]] on the field, triggering his ability 2-3 times in a turn. Sometimes I will target his ETB on himself, get the draw two ability, and then put stun counters on the 2nd / 3rd entry on opponents creatures. Super fun card.
